Please feel free to leave input on this situation.......This happened not to long ago and still burns me........
Double hill in an 8 ball match.......Your on the 8 and the opponent has 7 balls left on table....He hooks you behind a mass of balls and there is no chance to kick........Jump shots are legal so you whip out the trusty jumper and jump the ball..........you hit the 8 clean and the cue ball bounces up and onto the rail....rolls down the rail about 8 to 10 inches and stops........ on the rail.........it was just sitting on the felted rail, not touching and plastic, wood or etc.....just the felt..........
Now, how would you (yall) would rule that shot...........
In this case the director ruled that the ball had left the playing surface and was a foul....but jumping the ball over another ball was not leaving the playing surface.......I went berserk......but apparently that's the rules......
thanks
