You care to explain how you go someplace and play for 7 months, get 1 free drink per week, a party at the end of the year w/ all you can eat for $15 dollars. Forgive me for being a skeptic, but if it sounds like a DUCK IT'S A DUCK! AND DUDE YOUR QUACKING ALL OVER THE PLACE RIGHT NOW!
But I would be interested in reading your explaination.
Black Cat
It's a local league. All 12 teams are sponsored by a bar. The bar pays a sponsorship fee of 40 per team. The free drinks are played for in "beer frame", which is a 3 rack set played doubles. The losing team, their sponsor bar picks up the tab for all the drinks that week. The 15 from each player all goes to the end of the year party, and the 100 paid to the winner of the "top shooter" tournament. It's pretty simple really. No one makes any money, unless you win top shooter then you get 100. All the money goes right back to the players, but not in monetary form.
All matches are played in sponsored bars, home games and away games. No charge for that obviously. Basically the bars take the brunt of the costs involved with operating the league, but they also make a decent profit on league nights (most players don't drink just one drink). It works out well for everyone.
