Your opinions on the best quality billiard glove?.

Did you think I would consider wearing a woman's formal glove?.

I don't care about fashion or traditions, I care about getting a smooth stroke on the rock.

So you shit on the guy who suggests altering a woman's formal glove and tell another you "don't care about fashion or traditions"... interesting...

Go back to page two where I thank at least 4 people for their helpful advice. These were people who actually use gloves and had real life experience to offer. Not someone who once made fun of a guy for using womans' glove.

He didn't make fun of it; he said it looked silly. But with alterations one would not be able to tell the difference.

Other than causing trouble and swearing like a drunken sailor, do you have anything meaningful to contribute?

Are you only posting on this forum to point out the "injustices in the world"?. Cause I got news, there's a greenpeace website just waiting for your valuable human observations.

I also tell politically incorrect jokes and exchange witty banter with other posters.

I do shoot with a Cuetec, two in fact. Secondly, sanding the shaft is the number one cause of warpage. When you remove the finish you expose the woodgrain letting moisture into the shaft.

As far as your theory, "No good players play with a glove.....", that's just plain ridiculous. I want opinions about glove makers from people who actually use gloves on a regular basis.

If I wanted to hear from people who think they are crap, I'd have made one of those soap-box posts that seem so popular on this forum.

You might want to call the Cuetec people about which glove they recommend. They probably did quite a bit of research based upon the surface material on their shaft. At least here you will be able to find out which glove provides the best glide, if this is one of the points you are after.

About sanding and warping. I wouldn't think you would experience this problem with a Cuetec shaft because of its construction. Even generally, you should not experience warping even on a wooden shaft following a sanding. Warping happens due to the wood of the shaft not aging properly, the cut of the wood used and harsh chemicals that get into the wood andbreaks it down. I'm not saying this should happen though if this were the case, cuesmiths would warn you when tapering a shaft.

Again, ask the guys at Cuetec. Once they tell you what they recommend you may want to ask others what they feel about the glove.

Pete - Cuetec sells it's own brand name glove, so I imagine that would be their recommendation by default. However that does not mean it's superior to other gloves, but you may have a point regarding the "S.S.T" shaft coating and third party gloves.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the sanding issue.

That is fine about sanding, but just for the record I did not mean continuous sanding, I meant only to get the manufacturers surface layer off it. Even though Cuetec may sell one glove for profit, I'm sure they would not just sell any glove. Also, what might help a little is to define some characteristics about gloves you would like rated.

e.g
1. How well it glides
2. Does it breath well to help reduce the sweat accumulated inside
3. How long before the material begins turn on your fingers as you stroke
4. How it wears
5. General comfort

You may even have some better ideas, but in my opinion this might be a good place to start. At least this way people could evaluate what glove they use and would be able to relate their experiences with you by category.

I imagine the main reason you are asking is because your hands get sweaty or the environment is sometimes hot and humid. I did not read to far into this post, but have you tried a glove yet? If you did, what don't you like about it.

thanks!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank Mike for installing the ignore feature. BRAVO!

When I used a glove I liked the Blakeman model because it fit my particular hand size / shape better. That may or may not be the case for you, or any other individual. Since gloves are relatively inexpensive I'd recommend you try all three and then pick the one that fits you best.
Hope this helps.
I like the glove with the cutted fingers because i feel the table with my fingers and don't slide inside the glove with my fingertips.

Billiardophile,
Evidently you or the admin choose to delete all your intervening posts, but by reading the posts that are still there in reply to you, I assume you took umbrage with my post about the guy using a ladies evening glove as a shooting glove.

I was making fun of nobody, just stating a fact that it looked silly as hell and, btw, I don't think a normal billiard glove looks silly at all. I'm of the opinion that whatever works for you use it and I had no problem with him using a ladies evening glove. I was seriously trying to communicate to you that silk would probably be a very good material for a billiard glove, it is smooth as, well, silk and silk is a tougher fabric than many people assume.

From your general attitude expressed in this thread I think it is safe to say you were just looking to make trouble, or you're just an oversensitive smuck. You joined this forum June 30th, I hope your stay is a short one.

... and I just want to take a moment to thank you for defending my post while it was attacked when I was away playing pool of all things. I have no idea what the BilliardPHOBE had posted in response to me as he deleted his posts, but thanks anyway.

And I would also mention you're a fine looking women too, something which I can safely say without being accused of hitting on you as I am VERY much your elder. I can still notice though, as dear Aunt Ruth said about my uncle "If he stops looking, throw dirt over his face, he's dead."

Yeah I knew it meant something similar to that, but since the most common word used ending with 'ophile' begins with 'ped' (thats what I get from watching the news) the name billiardophile brings the other word to mind, which is why it is creepy. The guy is just about as sensitive as a kid which makes it even more creepy.

Reading his posts I think maybe he was schizoaffective. He even attacked Timberly for posting a link - and she was trying to be helpful!

I would say that is accurate.

Sweaty hands are solved by simply washing your hands with powder dish washing detergent, dries the hands right out and makes them stay that way for a long time. Takes about 2 minutes of washing and all those nasty sweat glands are screwed right up for a good long while.

Celtic I have the opposite problem you see my hands get far too dry and therefore I can't slide the cue freely through my bridge hand, I have tried everything creams, powders and talc but nothing works so would a glove work better for me or not?

You're very welcome... This guy just wants to join us, ask a question, then put down everything anyone had to say! If I was wondering about a product, I'd want to hear the cons along with the pros, but that's just me. He warmed up in a few PMs and was nice for a second, then he started raving like a lunatic again... hence my schizoaffective prognosis lol This one's for you billiardophile:
