Your practice and hopes/dreams

When you practice, are you looking to get better or more consistent? Difference being, better... do you feel you need a higher level of play, such as shots you can't make or shape you can't get. Consistent... You can do without the gap between your best to weak game. Are you looking for more consistent CB control, speed/lines, or ball choice for easier runs?

My game has improved greatly since getting a home table. My high level is very good and now I'm working on my weak game. This would be improved patterns, ball selection and CB speed/lines. This all builds confidence and a stronger starting game.

edit forgot dreams part. I would like to be at a consistent pro level player to short stop.

My practice has always been playing ghosts/gambling. I don't have any set drills, I'll just toss the balls out and try to run out in a certain game, and if I feel like something is bothering me (a certain type of shot) I'll give it a couple cracks.

For right now I just hope I can get that desire to play again, it's been a while and to be honest I still don't feel like playing.

When I was playing my hope was to make as much $$ as possible... and as far as ability to get to a pro level

My dream was obviously always to be the best player evar!

I still think I'm the favorite in an all around event of pool/poker/graphic design/audio engineering vs anyone on the planet.

The first drill would be a practice, the other, throwing balls on table, would be a warm up.

I would consider practice a drill to improve potting, shape, speed etc. Putting balls on table and running is playing. You will get better in years instead of weeks and months with practice.

I'll go with practice to keep the stroke alive, seeing the spots and keep the vision.

Hopes/dreams to get to consistent A level, triple digits in 14.1, and to best my best (back to back 5 and out in tourney play). Oh, and get to deadstroke...the high that I as a pool player am always jonesing for. :D

And another one.....to kick the crap out of the 'ghost'.

When I practice I try to improve both shot making and position play. I am newer to the game, so these are where I feel I need the most improvement (consistency included). I will eventually start practicing various games like 14.1 and 1 pocket. So to answer your question I try to become more consistent and learn new things to better my game at the same time.

I don't feel like I can properly practice without a home table, so it makes it difficult. For one, I can't practice as often as I like, or at the times that are convenient for me. Secondly, there are a lot of distractions at the pool hall, it's usually crowded around the table, and it's hard to really break down and do drills. When I get a home table it will be a different story.

Dreams: To be as good as the pros that I watch play on tv and the internet. Run racks regularly in 8-ball, 10-ball, and 9 ball. Run over 200 balls in straight pool (remember these are just dreams, I'm not saying I'm anywhere near this good...yet).

I'm taking major steps improve my game this summer by getting a home table (still waiting on the RKC to set up my Diamond Pro) and taking lessons with John Schmidt.
