Your views on TriStar billiards table

Hello friends.
I am new to this forum and hope you all are having good time. Well, this is my first post so please be gentle. I was looking for a new billiards table and just stumbled across TriStar billiards tables at our local dealer. Price seems good on the Versailles model, but I can't find a single review on TriStar anywhere. They seem fairly well built, but I want to know your views before buying it. Does anyone have any feedback or pointers to some real life experiences?

Thanks..

Suspect, based on google, that you have posted this question on other sites
And drew a blank

Can't provide feedback from playing on these tables, only general comments on what I found.

Apparently an import.
Nothing on their web site says where they are manufactured.
Suspect China.
No prices.
No specifications, like, for example, weight, table sizes, drop pockets or ball return.

Has the same address as A.E. Schmidt (do a search here on AZB - the name comes up occassionally) I'm not American so better let the locals give opinions.

Site has:
Buzz words like
Cobra cushions - undoubtedly named after Glen, AZB's pool table guru, who posts on this board as Real King Cobra (do a search)
Tri-Star certified slate
Quadra-Lok rail system
Dura-Lok frame
our twin "I" beam construction

Empty assurances
TriStar has assembled a staff of seasoned billiard experts from all parts of the country. What country ? Our owners, sales staff and design team all enjoy impeccable reputations. the last thing we will allow is an unsatisfied customer.
Tri-Star certified fully lined one inch slate. Each component of the Dyna-Lok frame system is bolted together, not screwed stapled or nailed together
offers a new approach to billiard table manufacturing.
Our formula of the finest pure gum rubber stands out as the new standard in the industry.
Over the next few weeks and months, Tri-Star International Billiards Company will introduce a line of accessories that match the quality and value of our pool tables and game room furniture.
One of Tri-Star owners travels to all parts of the world to select only the finest slate, mined in the deepest and riches slate quarries.

I saw one comment on the web - it was favourable, but it was from an Olhousen dealer - enought said :grin:

Tables look pretty.
Chinese cushions are noted for deteriorating quickly, and unevenly.
Quality of the cloth is unknown
Quality of construction and weight of the table tend to go together - A 9 ft Gabreils comes in a around 1500 pounds. A Canada Billiards Black Crown at about 1000 pounds. A Connelly Ultimate - 2 inch slate - probably weights much more than any of these.
Best slate comes from Brazil or Italy
Best cushions come from Germany - Artemis

My experience with stuff from China is that the quality of wood is poor.

There would be many who would suggest that, unless you want a piece of furniture, you should look around for a used commercial table - Brunswick Gold Crown, or a Diamond, or Gabriels, if you can find one. Any one of those will last, and will probably cost less, even with moving , setup, and installing new Artemis cushions and high quality cloth.

Why did you post in the Snooker section?
If a table has diamonds it is for pool, not snooker.
Star snooker tables is the official supplier for World Snooker, but it is not the same company.
