I have a youth clinic scheduled for April 6th at my pool hall, Jim's Place, in Coldwater Michigan. We have quite a few excited kids interested. This is my first time trying this so am reaching out for tips and advice from anyone who has done this sort of thing before. What do you focus on? Fundamentals or fun? Competition? I have some thoughts on how to start out but am wide open to any Ideas or experience from this forum.

Fun first, fundamental second and then competition.

If you have future dates then you should start getting them to play competitively.

I'm already assuming you will be teaching them basics so at least some of the fundamentals will be covered on the first day.

Roy Pastor has developed a training plan for kids and has been very successful producing players who finish high in national youth pool competitions. You might try contacting him.

A single day doesn't really give you much time, though.

As BW said, keep it fun and get them playing quickly.
