ZAC Cues, out of Canada

He's got a pretty nifty website : www.zaccues.com

His cues look pretty nice, all done by hand, no CNC. I got to shoot with one briefly....I liked it. :) He's very reasonably priced. He's located outside of Vancouver, BC.

Yes I own one and have shot with a few. And might have one for sale if interested. I want buy that Mottey off of Hubelim if he still has it. Scott Zachow cues have a very nice solid hit to them, the cues Ive shot with had a 3/10 wood to wood joint. All of the points of his looked even (didnt measure exactly), My only complaint and this is because of personal preference, his cues are slightly undercut, or thin. Heres my Zac with the

zac on ebay

Has anyone had a Zac cue???
any feedback would be great!!!!!!!!!
Any cues to compare to
Thanks
I have one on Ebay right now. I would have to say that the points are very clean, sharp and all run out to the same length. The stainless steel joint gives it the firm crisp hit like any other makers with the SS joint. As far as size, my cue specs out at just slightly thinner than the normal .850 joint dimension and the 1.250 butt dimension. Scott will soon be very popular in my opinion for he builds a quality cue at an affordable price.

I'll let you know in a couple of days what I think. I am getting one today, as a matter of fact. I checked the tracking info with FedEx and it is on the truck in my town scheduled for delivery. I'll hit a few with it and let you know.

I'm also about to get one. I'll post pics and info on how it hits when I get it. Should be about a week or two.

If you want a relatively cheap way to find out, I have a plain jane one for $250 shipped USPS priority.

19 - 19.5oz / 12.75 - 13mm shaft, radial pin, I believe.

It was suppose to have been owned by Dan Louise and given to him by Scott Zachow.

Zac cue

Does anyone know what a Zac cue with Snakewood forearm, 4 ivory points, ivory butt and joint, and 5 pretty rings would be worth?

Zac cues

Hello all -

If you will go to Scott's website - www.zaccues.com - and look in the cue archive you will see my Zacs. It is a set of snakewood and ivory cues that are really, really nice. Scott does great work with mammoth ivory, rings and inlay work. I agree the butt is a little thinner than most but I personally find it plays very well. These are two of my favorite cues.

My Dad has a set

My Dad (DukeofDBQ) has a very nice matched set of Zac's. Everyone who has played with it loves it.

I have the 503 for sale at the moment. Beautiful cue with probably the most mammoth ivory he has ever used in one cue. Has three shafts with ivory ferrues and ivory joint protectors to boot! I was told it sells new for $3200, but am asking $2500 or best offer if any of you are interested. PM with email address and I will send pics, but you can also look at the cue on his website.

I was actually the designer and original owner of both the cocobolo and ivory (#503) and the snakewood/maple set (#502). If memory serves, I received the two cue set around April of 2002 and the cocobolo cue around August of the same year. Scott B. is right about the amount of ivory in the cocobolo cue. When I spoke to Scott Zachow on the phone, while he was building it, he told me how long it took to find a big enough piece of mammoth tusk, of sufficient quality, from which to get both the points and butt sleeve. I think it came from a supplier in Russia. In his own words, that cue, and the snakewood player were the two fanciest cues he had ever made to that point.

Scott was an easy guy to work with and was fun to speak with on the phone. I thought about visiting his shop a few times, since Vancouver Island is only a couple of hours away, between the drive and ferry ride, but it never worked out. Regardless, his cues were very solid players, and attracted a number of compliments whenever I took them out to play. His forearms were of the highest quality and I agree that you will get quite a bit of cue for the money.
