Hello all…. Just wanted to get some feedback of your preference or have tried this Zero-X System. (http://www.zerox-billiards.com/ ) I realize that it is not that much money for 6hours of fun filled footage. I have read the testimonials and breezed through some small video clips. (all in all... make everything look quite easy). I am stuck in a plateau and need somethign to get me over the hump.

If there are other threads that have this info and I have overview it somehow, please paste the AZB link.

I am open to your thoughts or if it has up-ed your game any!

Good grief..get over it. Nothing was taken from anyone. It's a very easy to learn kicking and banking system, especially for the price. I have both and it has helped

I bought the series and it is a good deal but when it comes to a topic of aiming he doesn't really have an aiming system. He just recommends that if you are using in aiming system use it until it becomes automatic without thinking about it anymore. Basically hit a lot of balls until you are decent at pocketing balls. easier said than done. His kicking and banking videos are really good especially for the price.

Tap, Tap, Tap.

Merry Christmas :)

If you are not improving, it's probably not the aiming that is at fault. More likely are you mechanics and/or routine. You have to stop playing pool for a couple of weeks and just work on drills. Specifically stroke and ball pocketing drills. Aiming systems all try to accomplish the same thing and they are all not perfect. You need to use a system that becomes automatic so that you don't even think about it. All your aiming is done before your bridge hand touches the felt. From that point to when you shoot the shot is where a lot can go wrong. That's where the drills can help you. Work on straightening out your stroke and pocketing balls over and over, thousands of times without playing. It's work and it takes time to improve. A coach can help you iron out any mechanical flaws, but ultimately you have to put in the time working on it. There is no magic aiming system and no magic cue. The magic happens after the work is done.

You can not go wrong with this system, It is simple to learn and will help you a lot.

Peter

I second that. The methods shown by Tor already won me several matches. More important, my confidence in the shot increased dramatically. If only I miss a bank or a kick shot, that's because of my execution rather than miscalculation.

The Kicking DVD has already elevated my playing a whole lot. I'm not giving Ball-in-hands away like I used to. What a great set of DVDs.

Well buddy,

that statement fits for 90 % of the *guys*-- the hard thing is, to give yourself no excuses :-)
Almost every shot is missed because of bad execution and nothing else!

Once you are *serious* with yourself, you made a big step :-)

I got a lot out of Tor's free YouTube video (almost 3 hours longs), and I highly recommend watching it in its entirety, but as far as aiming systems go, Tor doesn't really mention any. In fact, he is a proponent of what he calls "automatic aiming". Whatever aiming system you chose as a beginner, he believes that you haven't really gotten to where you need to be until aiming is automatic and you no longer think about it.

This is what most folks call "playing by feel". That is most easily achieved by the one thing that 99.9% of struggling players looking for a quick fix are reluctant to do: stroke and pocketing drills. Improve your stroke and you improve your game. His message seems to me to be this: aim however you wish, but develop your stroke until it is relaxed, powerful, straight, and 100% repeatable and you will have something that you can carry around with you wherever you go. Once you get there, the actual pocketing of balls will become a lot easier.

you are correct Ratta! But what I wanted to say was before Tor kicking videos I played by guessing only, and banked by feel and former background. Now it is a precisely calculated shot where I know exactly which path the cueball (or object ball in banking) is to take. And if it doesn't follow the way calculated - it's only due to lack of execution.

Yes, and when I got the math down (which was fun to practice and learn) now I just adjust running english and speed for different tables I play on around town.:)

First off thank you for not making any assumptions of playing ability. Much appreciated. When I originally posted this thread I was in a rut but three week prior I was running out… (ie. during a tournament I ran out 4 racks with ease and placed.) So then I could not hit a lick if I even tried. I took some advice from “Big C” and review my bad habits and mechanics. I then took about 3 weeks off and just hit some shots after shots and more shots. No English was necessary during the time of practicing and kept reviewing the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm-VDuGzJS4 Zero X Aiming vid. I really have not had the time to get the full video. Maybe just lazy to be honest. This past weekend I entered in a tournament because I just wanted to get out and ran a few racks but did not place. Although I have been playing for 20 years on and off, i never had depth training or trainer in many years.
From the short comments in some of the posts… I do not care about who took what from someone else. You always can learn from someone else… Train the trainer perhaps! No judgment!
My goal is to get this and take some time to digest before going to the 2014 Expo.

Best part of his video IMHO, 35:45 - 44:43. Keep working on those fundamentals.
