Brian, I call you 3 times even sent you pics, than again Wensday and than again Saturday, The first 3 times is to let you know the cue will be done soon to make 100 perfect SURE that you would pick up the cue and had the money all 3 times you said no problem. when I called Wensday now it is a problem. Thursday and Friday and Saturday nothing and Sunday night I sold it. The last time I did just a 50.00 job it took a whole month to pick the pau ferro cue so you could sell it. I put all the ivory in this cue free no charge I really thought you would pick it up fast so you could make a fast 500.00 or even have a friend pick it up. If it takes a month to pick up a pau ferro with the nick you only owes 50.00 on this was scary. I did sell the cue for less than I charged you, now he can flip it and make money just like you could have I see why you are mad. Jeff

This is a pretty underhanded business move by Mr. Olney. Assuming all the facts as stated by the OP are correct, Mr. Olney should salvage this situation by moving the OP to the top of his list and making him an identical cue for the price originally agreed upon for the first one. He might even offer to make a slight change, obviously approved by the OP, to make this a one of a kind cue.

Jeff, you need to spend more time OUT of the paint booth. You know Brian has the money to pay for it. You put people off for months(or YEARS!) for what ever reason and you couldn't wait a few days? Or give a courtesy call?
If you were that concerned about the money, why didn't you take the down payment Brian offered you a few months back?

Jeff, you sir are F.O.S.

The incoherent ramblings of another dishonest cue builder. Put him on the list with the zinzolas, gracios, and peppers of the world. A repeat customer waits for years for custom cue and you sell it from under him after four days, wow.

I wasn't going to sit on this cue I did tell Brian a few weeks ago I had I guy that would buy it if he didn't want it. I really needed somebody to pick up the cue when done. if Brian had even a 10.00 deposit I would have never sold the cue. I give a lot of people good deals on cues I even did all the ivory inlays for free on this cue. the calls I made to Brian was to let him know he needed to pick up the cue when done but was too busy. You told me it would take a month to fix my scratched cue. You called me 2 weeks later telling me it was done. I picked it up about 4 or 5 days later. Never did you mention anything then..

Now your just trying to SAVE FACE saying it was scary over a $50 repair.

MAN UP AND ADMIT YOU SCREWED UP ON THIS DEAL

The ivory inlays were not free. They were even priced out on the Build sheet you put together for me.

mr. olney he had a custom cue made that took a long time. you gave him like five days to come get it and didnt give him an ultimatum that it would be for sale if he didnt come.
it was essentially his cue since he oredered it. you had no right to sell it out from under him.

why on earth in the future would anyone order a cue from you knowing that after waiting a year or more for it you might just sell it to someone else.

you may make a nice cue but as many buyers have found with other makers you fall into the bad business person class.

Brad, your brother did have 200.00 at one time but used the 200.00 down to pay for the other cue. as far you want to talk about me. that's fine nit, the last dealing I had with you done I did 70.00 worth of work for you sanding some oversized shaft down for over an hour and put on a kaumi black tip you said you would only pay 25.00 and than take over 6 months to pay for it NIT. AS far as courtesy calls 1 2 3 4 5 think about it really 4 too many. Jeff

And I asked you more than once if you NEEDED any money and you said no.
Cause you felt bad the cue was taking so long.

Not 1 of your calls was to tell me I needed to pick up the cue or ELSE.
each one was a friendly conversation.
1. cant make it tomorrow, have to watch my kids cause my wife has conferences.
2. yes I can make it tomorrow night. (which was the saturday call)
3 I called sunday at 8:19 to tell you I completely forgot and would be there on Monday.
4.the call I missed and got the voicemail tha the cue is sold.
5. was when you called me a stupid fuccer and hung up on me.

Tough one...
I can certainly see the buyers side and if it were me, after waiting a year I'd be so pissed I don't know what I'd do, but I can promise the cue maker would hate it.
I can also see the cue maker's side, a chance to make 4 x's the money. We've all quit jobs to take better paying ones.
In the end the buyer and the cue maker did have an agreement though, and a down payment or a deposit was made and accepted. My thought is that the cue maker should have made actual contact even after leaving a message or should have given 24 hours or something like that. A new buyer would have to understand that much. That few bucks could do some major damage to his reputation. Has there been any compensation offered? any moving to the front of the list? any discount offered? Seems to me the two interested parties could work something out, they don't appear to be that far apart.

Didn't see this one, that could be a deal breaker, or at least it could for me

Maybe you need to read again. There was no down payment for the cue in question. As for this saga, the OP seems to be hiding his past dealing with Jeff. Dealings in which Jeff feels he was deliberately taken advantage of. Luck1st you seem the think Jeff was your friend, but he wasn't. You used his kindness for your gain. I can understand why Jeff is mad.

Olney had his buyer lined up prior to it being finished, this deadline stuff is just crap like his rep is now. If I was him, I would be trying my best to get cue back into the right persons hands, but Im a person with integrity and by the sounds of it Mr. Olney is not.
