    Good video about SIT compensation.

I just found this guy's videos and they seem to be really good. He's talking about spin induced throw (SIT) and how it effects shots. I really like his style, he's thorough without getting overly technical. Just thought I'd pass it along for anyone interested.

What should a XXX FargoRate be working on?

I'm curious what do you guys think one should be working on at the following fargo rates? 400 450 500 550 600 650 700+ Any specific drills or areas that commonly need work? Any books covering this info? I've not really seen a discussion on this.

Cool new insert for Bucket Polisher:

I saw this on reddit and had a buddy print this for me. I ended up using hot glue to glue felt to the ring. It seems to do a great job. The 3d files are listed in the above link. Really nice of him to upload the files for everyone to use.

    9 ball odd situation

9 ball, 3 ball is hanging in the pocket on a miss. Opponent shoots, misses 3 ball but the cue ball contacting the rail vibrates the table enough that the 3 falls. What is the rule on this?

What should an average player, looking to improve do when...

What should an average player, looking to improve do when they are in a situation they don't know what to do? In the past I've just hit half ball hit with spin, one way or the other, whichever feels right. I know this isn't the answer, but what should a person do when they don't know what the...

Split leather pockets, how to fix or reinforce

I recently noticed the leather over the irons was starting to split on my drop pocket Olhausen. I ordered a new set. Is there a way to reinforce the area where the split occurred? I’d rather do this before installing. I’d imagine it’s a common scenario and would like to hear some ideas. Thanks!

JBM practitioners, I have a question. SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY PLEASE!

Does anyone know any high melting point Jelly Beans? I accidentally put mine through the washer and dryer in my pants. Maybe there isn't a jelly bean that won't melt in those conditions... Could I clear coat them? Clear epoxy maybe? If it's not possible, are there any brands of JB that...

Bent knees stance, what to know?

Recently I started having horrible pain from my regular stance. I'm 6' tall. I've never bent my knees while shooting. I had my old stance locked in air tight. This is no longer an option. It feels like I'm standing in a fire pit while on the shot. This has been going on for a month and I feel...

    Diviney

Diviney cue. Dark kielwood shaft (that was dirty as hell when I took the pic... sorry about that). Kielwood Curly Maple into Mexican Cocobolo. Black piece near bumper is for an extension, not really part of the cue. Hits like all Divineys, like a million bucks. Balanced very well, it disappears...

Drills to get rid of draw loving "trick shot" syndrome?

I'm getting the competition experience in but would like some drills to work on at the practice table. There's just so many drills out there it's hard to pick one or for someone without the knowledge to even properly analyze which are worthwhile. I'd like something to work on natural angles...

Where oh where do you go Front Foot?

I have a "simple" question. Where should the front foot point? Should it point at: Contact point/aim on OB? The pocket? The location you want to leave the CB? Parallel to the bank/kick shot line? Parallel to the shot line? At the "fly on the wall" or imaginary pocket used to visualize banks...

Funny situation and oddball house rules

There's an unsanctioned men's 9B league in town with a couple of odd rules. It does not allow jump cues (whatever I get it, saves cloth) and you must call the 9. Every other form of slop is allowed, but 9 must always be called... be it combo/carom early or at the end of the rack. I know, that's...

Getting tournament ready, last 3 days?

Any tips on getting tournament ready? Me and a buddy have been focusing on it for a month or so. Any things to do or focus on in the last 3 days? I think we're setting pretty solid right now, nothing glaring to hold us back. How does one transition from tournament practice into getting set for...

The distant rumblings and ramblings of a pool nut.

The train is at the station. Now boarding for pool town. Remember to check your baggage at the door. The game's on, stretch your legs and relax for a bit. You've earned it after carrying those bags over the platform. Fair warning, different play styles may get nothing from this soliloquy. I...

Zan GripHard, If you like hard tips buy this immediately (even single layer lovers).

Zan GripHard is amazing. It installed very well, trims up good and super easy to burnish without much pressure/heat. I used a Japanese Kiridashi knife to trim. The linked knife made it way easier than using those brass handled disposable ones. If you plan on installing more than 3 tips in your...

What's the hardest leather tip that holds chalk well?

What's the hardest leather tip that holds chalk well? I've had enough of this soft tip. Looking for a very hard tip for a playing cue that has a good sound and holds chalk. I love hard milk duds but thought I'd give something else a try if anyone has recommendations.
