Not sure how it happened but I put a decent size ding in my break cue. Can I try to fix the pred. shaft like a normal shaft?

Just put a ding in the exact same spot on the other side and it will look like it is supposed to be there :)

In my opinion you should be able to fix it like any other. All I know is that moisture could be really really bad for it.

If it is compressed wood lay the cue on a flat surface with the indentation facing up. Put a drop of warm water on in. Sometimes a small piece of water soaked tissue works. Leave it set overnight. By the next day it should have popped out. Burnish it with a piece of paper, leather etc. If it is still raised up too much lightly sand it with about 2000 grit paper.

Don't use steam as it may loosen the glue.

If it is gouge you could try using some kind of glue or wood filler.

Thats funny, I was thinking I would put some duct tape on there. Might help me find a game...

If it were me I would hesitate to put water on a laminated shaft unless I heard from someone who had actually done it successfully. If the ding isn't very large, you could probably fill it in with super glue, sand that down, and have a very acceptable fix.

I agree, adding water is my concern. Thats why I posted this. The super glue idea sounds interesting but I think I would have to try it on another cue first for practice.
Thanks!

i would contact predator before doing anything that involved soaking water into that spot on the shaft or steam. last i heard they used water soluable glue for the pie laminations. things could get ugly quick.
