ob shaft question

are their any differences from the original ob shaft to the ones being made now..like how predator had the, nocat, then the cat, then the 314-2.

i know they have the ob2 but i would say that is their answer to the z shaft. just talking about ob shafts now compared to the original. i heard someone say original 308 version and i didnt know what that meant,

you can ask royce but i don't think there is any difference. original 308 version refers to the butt design that they changed.

We have had no real changes in design to the OB-1 cue shaft since it's inception. Obviously, we do make changes to our process for the means of improvements to efficiency, but no significant changes to the shaft design.

As far as the 308 series cues go, there were 10 cues, the first 10, that did not have the maple inlays at the bottom of the points. This is also true with the 408 cues as well. So, if you have one without these inlays, then it is one of ten, that will not be made again! Someday they should be collectible.

cool, well i wish i did have one but i dont....thanks for the answer and im sure youll be glad that i switched to ob from predator....where can i see one of the break cues or break shafts? also any info on them anywhere?
 
I bought an OB1 a year ago and i am more than pleased.
Now that the OB2 is out, im not sure if i want to buy it or stick with what i have :)

Right now, there isn't really that much available on the break cues. We did sell a few of them at the Derby, but we have held up on promoting them until we get our dealers stocked up.

We should have a few of them at the Super Billiards Expo, and we hope to have enough for our dealers by then too. If not, then shortly there after.

The Break Shafts, will be available for sure at the Expo. We should announce the joints we will be producing them in shortly.

Because of the glue lines are vertical to the exposed surface, it reduces the splintering issues.

One way to tell is how evenly spaced apart each veneer is, the newer ones have veneers very close together.

I may be wrong, Royce feel free to chime in on the pics and correct/comment on the accuracy of the diagram.
