Just what song does it for you in the poolroom?

JZ ? Notorious Big ? Kanye West = zero talent !!!

Anyone who's old enough to have gambled at pool, Fri. and Sat.... non stop, (with maybe a bennie or two to stay awake) will appreciate, Johnny Cash's version of Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Comin' Down".
Of course that was back when music meant something besides "killing cops" and "Beatin up your 'ho".
Forgive the old guy, it's not hard to tell a lot of you weren't around then. You don't know what you missed.

Dick

PS. "Take The Ribbon From Her Hair" wasn't bad either, if you had a cute pool groupie waiting at the bar. ;)

You're showing your age, Dick. Everyone knows that you don't "beat up" your ho. I believe the correct terminology is something like, "break your foot off in that a$$". imo.

Of course, I've gotta be singing the ones with lyrics while they're playing , too!

The music they play at the local pool room is usually pretty terrible. Pretty much the only stuff that Is good on their Juke is The Doors (Riders on the Storm & When the Music's Over are 2 of my fav's) and the occasional Zepp song...

I have my iPod Rigged up to play on these huge old speakers where my table is at home. So when it's on random these are some of the songs I like a lot when I am practicing-

"Decoration Day" By The Drive-By Truckers
"Where The Devil Don't Stay" by the Drive By Truckers
"Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show
"Strange Bird" by Bobby Bare Jr's Young Criminal Starvation League
"Choctaw Bingo" by James Mcmurtry & The Heartless Bast*rds
"Go Tell The Mountain" by the Gun Club
"Cecil Brown" by Hank Williams III
"Five Days in May" by Blue Rodeo
"Anna Leigh" by The Sadies
"Halloweenhead" by Ryan Adams & The Cardinals
"The Old Days" by Dr. Dog
"Dope Fiend Blues" by Mike Ness

"Ball And Chain (Honky Tonk Version)" by Mike Ness
"Dancing With the Women at the Bar" by Whiskeytown
"You're Gonna Miss Me" by the 13th Floor Elevators

I could go on forever...

Turn the Page by Bob Seger

Back in the early 90's, my husband and I were on the road and we got stuck in a joint by the name of Rossville Billiards (somewhere in Tenn.) for about a week. We were near broke (eating off Wendy's 99 cent menu everyday...lol) and to make things worse it was August and the room's air conditioning system was out. I discovered that song for the first time on their jukebox and felt as if we were "living the lyrics" so to speak. It was a brutal time in my life. That song is very inspirational to me and whenever I hear it while playing pool, it takes me back to that era in my life and I feel unbeatable!:)

How about a little Aldo Nova - Fantasy

Wow!! Took me back a while on that one!! Rep for you!!

I love to listen to anything. I can't seem to get geared up listening to Rap, country, or Metal (where I can't tell what they're saying).

The stuff that gets me going is stuff like Queensryche, Dream Theatre, and Tool. But I love all rock!! I was in a hair metal band in the 90's, playing covers only, so that old stuff like Whitesnake, Tesla, Bon Jovi, Bullet Boys, LA Guns, Guns 'n Roses, Metallica, Motley Crue and many more due the trick for me as well.

But my all time favorite is a room with no music!! Just the sound of the balls being hit is enough for me!

sounds

started to list them but couldn't stop. Anything by metallica, ac/dc, creed, sublime. Anything with thumping drums, and screaming guitar. If someone doesn't hollar " turn that crap down," I probably don't like it.

Sad, truly sad. ;)

and I woulda guessed you as more of a polka fan anyway.....?

What the heck is a polka? lol

I am more into R and B/hip Hop nowadays. Yay know, Usher's - Yeah!, Bobby Brown's - My Prerogative, Sir Mix ALot - Baby Got Back, Ne Yo's - Closer, PussyCat Dolls - I Hate this Part, Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned, Fergie - Glamorous, etc. etc.

Blood, Milk & Sky
Seven Words
Say It Ain't So

Songs that will wreck my shooting:
Anything by Queen
Anything by Styx
Most country
Metallica and AC/DC songs I've heard 10,000,000,000 times or more, especially Master of Puppets and Big Balls
Songs blatantly designed to make teens or stupid people giggle because OMG they're just so 'dirty' tee hee! Hopefully nobody in this thread mentioned these already.. "Something in your mouth" "What's your Fantasy" .. "Bad Girlfriend" .. "Addicted" ..
