Cushion replacement on Billiard table

I know this is possibly a stupid question but I'll ask anyways.

I am recushioning a Brunswick Billiard (Carom) table. I removed the old felt and noticed something that I thought was odd. The canvas strip which is normally on the top part of the cushion, is on the bottom side. Is this correct? I am I right in thinking they're upside down? Or does it not matter? Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

That would be the correct way to mount the billiards cushions...upside down, canvas down...that causes the cushions to be more bouncy for playing 3C
