OK......Thanks.
If per game was going to be $1.50 anyway, so any game after the 5th round is a freebee. Hope my math is close. I usually get into 7-8 rounds anyway I guess that would work for me. The guy who goes out in two may not like it. Still I understand that all the following second chance etc is included....randyg

You are understanding correctly. All of the second chance, hard luck, sports divisions are included which make the large green fees a bit more bearable.

Manufacturing pool tables for which the balls lock into the belly each game until coins are put in to retrieve them if one of the most obnoxious things humankind has done in the last few thousand years.

Coin operated tables should all be turned on their sides and used as dikes to hold back flood water... They can plug up the pockets holes with heavy cueballs ... imo

Which do you prefer, a reasonable green fee say $20 or do you prefer to put quarters up instead?

Would you prefer a smaller Green Fee of say $15 and if you make it to the final 32 of the 128 person board, you pay an additional $10 as a green fee instead of putting up quarters?

As you might have guessed, I don't like being bothered with digging in my pockets for quarters, nor do I like reaching under the table for a spare ball, nor do I like sorting the other stripes out of the nine ball rack.

I'm just wondering for those of you who play in bar table tournaments if you prefer putting up the quarters or a green fee.

I left off the option of no quarters and no gree fee. That kind of thing only happens at Buffalo Billiards in Metairie, LA. LOL

Thanks for your input.

Here are the numbers

Since I still don't know how much I've spent for the last BCA tournament, I thought it would be interesting trying to do the math. Here is what I've come up with.

In a field of 256 players, there are 9 rounds on the winner side & 16 rounds on the one-loss side.

Assuming each game costs a dollar & you won the tournament, if every race-to-5 match is a hill-hill match, it would cost you $40.50 ($81 total & divide it by 2). On the other hand, if you lose your first hill-hill match & win every hill-hill match after that on the one-loss side & win the tournament, you would have paid $72 ($144 total & divide by 2).

I hope my math is correct. :D:D:D
