15 ball rotation tournament?

Seeing the thread that JohnnyT posted about the 15 ball ghost got me thinking, has there ever been a rotation tournament? Maybe in the Philipenes? I would think that we would see a lot of skill exhibited if all the pros played in a rotation event.

I wish that there were more Rotation tournaments... I love that game. The only place I know of that might have Rotation tournaments is the Philippines, but I'm probably wrong. I'd rather watch/ play Rotation than 9 ball...

Not even in the Philippines is there a Rotation Tournament. There are however money games played regularly on Rotation. The other forum I frequent also has a tourstop or 2 a year on Rotation. I think you can search YouTube wherein Efren Reyes plays Ronnie Alcano on this game. I think there is a rematch slated on end of May that Efren and Ronnie will be playing heads up. I love to play rotation.

How is rotation played in the Philippines? Here in the U.S. pure rotation was always played that you get the point value of each ball and the first player to 61 points wins the game. We also have Chicago which is the same game except it has money balls (1,5,8,10,13,15) but I like pure rotation better. I remember hearing once that in the Philippines rotation is played where the 8 ball is played in the side pocket for extra money or something like that but I probably heard wrong.

Same rules as the former. No ball in hand. You have to respot the OB and put the CB behind the headstring or you leave it as is. No Money balls.
