Would like to see if anyone would be willing to email a "sample" P&L / Business Plan for a Pool Room. It does not need to be revealing of your actual bottom line, but close to accurate "costs" would be appreciated.

Just trying to put together the beginnings of a Business Plan for a pool room, and don't want to overlook anything regarding Licenses, Insurance overhead costs, etc... that I may not think of.

My email is kgouso@cox.net

Thanks

the industry is so slow at this point in time i would strongly recommend that you consider waiting to see if and when it is going to turn around. i have been a room owner for 14 years and if i had high rent or equipment payments i honestly do no think i could survive. we have built a nest egg over the years and the current trend shows that we will be dipping into it to make it through next year. talk with other room owners and get their input.

I am a room owner and could not have said it better myself. GREAT ADVICE! Believe you me.

I have the...
...same 14 year period
...same low rent
...same lack of equipment payments
...and some of the same nest egg dipping is projected for our future as well.

Know how to make a small fortune in the pool business?

Start with a large one.:D

God bless all the room owners who manage to survive in a brutal business.

None of those are pool rooms. They all sell tables, and/or billiards supply...There are 2 9' foot rooms on the West Side...but nothing in the area or customer type I am after...

Glendale...AKA...The West Side is growing like a forest fire...(as is the rest of the city)

That was a joke? I was thinking more a business plan!

Thanks for sharing.

apparently no one has a business plan to give here.... maybe thats why they are "dipping"

Without getting too far into this subject ~ Your business plan would be written based upon the current economy; actually your economy in your community and the surrounding area from which you expect to draw customers.

You are saying the economy in Glendale is resistant to the broader economy at large. If this is true you will prepare your BP based upon your economy. I guess the bank will recogonize the strong growth in your area and view it from this point.

Next comes your start-up and capital expenditure expections. Services you intend to offer - profit centers of your business other than the tables themselves. Operating capital is very important. Operating capital is the cash you have on hand to operate the biz for a certain period of time w/o including income.

Don't forget one of the most important expenses and that is obtaining your local planning board and zoning board approval. Also take a walk down to the local police and get the crime reports for the neighborhood you plan to open in.

What are the income levels of your community? How much will someone pay to play/eat and have fun in your establishment? Do you know this info? If not you may want to survey other rooms that you don't and won't consider you competition.

There's lots more but this should get you started.

There are consultants who charge for a plan, and if you are venturing into uncharted waters the consultant is worth the price, if they save you for making costly GREEN mistakes.
