So in other words, you're pulling up ? lol
And you may not be aware of this, but my family and i own and run a business. We do not gamble with business money, we reinvest it. That money will go towards buying a new truck to make us more money. Thank you for your concern though
They might not be road players, but they are players that can spot anyone but Jamie on the bar box. I think Jody would need a little weight if he matched up for a big set(if they played in a tournament i might sidebet on Jody though)
I think the "Oil Man" would play these guys one pocket if they chose a different date to come. He might even play some barbox 8 ball.(if he can get out of house)

I would like to start out by saying Jeff and I are the farthest thing from road players or champions( for christ sake, he plays in the APA).I'm sure both of us can get spotted from Josh Johnson. Hell from what I hear Jamie drilled him. I have a free weekend to play pool, that's it, I"ve always worked and I have a wife, kids and a mortgage I can't afford. The second thing I want to ask is,If the only way to get action in des moines is to be from des moines thats fine, but when I call people and they say they'll call me with more info and never call back it gets a little annoying. I'm not trying to steel I'm just trying to make a game so I have something to do this weekend.I did tell jason and mike two different things.I really don't want to play 1pkt, but If a respectable offer was made I would think about it. I want everyone to know that If jamie wants to play I will come , but he has to call me personally! not second hand or a text, just a phone call will do. As for other games I will play just call me and ask. It's real easy with me I don't want to bark or bad mouth anyone into a game.I just want to see who plays better(no b.s moves).Just get your money in the middle and find out.If I lose You'll get paid, If I win I expect the same.If I get calls confirming action by thursday I'm coming friday after work and will stay until monday or I'm busted,which ever comes first. Listen im sorry you booked some losers, and im sorry you didnt rob the town like you thought would happen. I hope to see you putting some people back in action, because if you noticed you and your crew didnt have ANY problems getting a game when you were pumping out some money.
Plus apparently this whole deal has got some people wanting to play better pool and im all for that. I actually care about the pool scene around here.

Tom i got your message, since you will see this i will call you by Thurs afternoon for sure. Its looking like without Frost backing his guys you might be out of luck. He backs 3 of the better players in town. And i have no idea whats up with Jamie as he is not answering my phone call either, lol.

I think we both know why jamie isn't answering:wink: Honestly, I think jamie is the favorite playing me 9-ball,I would prefer 10-ball( not such a breaking contest) or 8-ball. I'm betting my own so I'm a little surprised people need a stakehorse for 500-1000 sets. Why don't people pool their money to play? I'm willing to play Mike A. but I would not want to play big table with him. but I'll play a set on both to be fair. OK Sparky you got me, bathe them and bring them to me. I'm cool with almost all the losers I booked, gambling is my main form of entertainment. It's just the nature of the beast. I like a good wager. Moral of the story is I'm cool right now, not down and out, just taking a hiatus. However I always seem to have to point several things out so here I go.
1) You guys are not gamblers. I am a gambler. I'm no nonsense, quick easy action to get. Let's get it on type of dude. I bet my own and I bet a lot. But like God, I giveth and I taketh away. You should realize it's not the defeats, there's a cooler factor as well. No logical gambler would keep throwing money into a game they keep losing, time to switch to plan b. After plan b works out, then you can try some more Plan a.
2) I'm a one man show. This means I don't have to ask or confer with anyone other than myself to make stuff happen. I only have to make 1 call and see if my player is up for it and if they are, game on. I'm the decision maker(not like Bush though). That makes me more flexible than a group of guys.
3) I have the stomach for this. I've said it before and I'll say it again I've lost more than 4 grand in a day...I'm really not sweating losing it over a week. Hell when I get paid that makes up most of the difference right there. The thing about it is you guys over value the impact you had on me. I'm still shoot 22 caliber bullets to feel the whole seen out, I haven't even begun to bet yet.
4) What goes up, must come down...it's physics. If you took a time out and thought logically for a minute you'd figure some things out and even if through pure speculation alone you'd know I'm just patiently waiting for something bigger.
5) From now on we will get exactly the games we want and there will be no compromise. We can do that because we are the bigger stick. There isn't much money to be won anyway...I can careless if I gamble or not. We do have casinos.
You used to be modest and kind of humble. Now you're the man. You won AZ Homecoming King or got voted Most Popular or something. This whole situation got silly and it truthfully makes me laugh. You get to be the bigger man and post that now but when I apologized 10 pages ago you didnt want to accept. Very bogus!

You bring up several good points. We talked about most of them. The thing I like is you said pool your money...thats a concept I doubt gets implemented here for anyone other than Jamie with the exception of Scott Frost if he needed it. It's amazing how you have to have the nuts to get a stake. If you were a chump and easy action you would have 10k worth of matches against you by now. People know you can match up even with most people so they dont wanna roll the dice any. It just shows a major lack of hometown pride. I didnt grow up here but you bet your bottom dollar if I did and someone wanted to call my hometown out I'd go all in if I had to.
Some mexicans from NY came to Fayetteville once and they brought the Mexican Champion Ignacio Chavez with them. Let's just say they wish to God they didn't stop in Fayetteville, because we put them guys all in until they stopped coming back.
I'm not even woofing right now, I actually think it's pretty sad. Tom is like Jamie just a different zip code. Is he better? Maybe but it costs to find out. The most sad part about it is this. Tom cant find any action, but if I say Phil wants to play even one pocket or Mike/Jody wanna play Jamie some more box 9 ball...the money would fall from the Heavens. You guys would line up for that, why cause you know you can win!
It's reasons like these why I can't put my money into the pot anymore. We'd rather take from our own then band together and bust non Des Moines players coming through. That alone says more than I ever could.

MIke, your missing the BIGGEST point of this whole thing.
DM has pride, but DM pool players aren't ignorant with their OWN hard earned money.
Ignorant definition in this sense.... playing heads up for $500-$1000 when they don't think for sure they have a shot at.
Dm pride in this sense....we like to talk junk, we like to back it up(as long as what we back it up with, we feel comfortable losing) The best advice you could ever give someone that is gambling.....ONLY GAMBLE WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE.
With that in mind, name me 2 or 3 top notch people in DM that can gamble even up with the two guys coming to town THAT CAN AFFORD TO LOSE $500-$1000.
Sorry, I can only think of one and he has real life commitments.

It's not about going bust to prove a point, here's all I'm saying. We do have some guys here that could play these gentlemen some and not be complete underdogs. If 20 people put in $250 or so that's a $5k bankroll. It would be like, OK it's time to set our own rivalries aside and run these boys out of here. We doubt each other so no way would we do that type of thing. It's not that there is no money, there's just no money for this stuff.
If Jamie or Chance got in the box and people thought it was a lock there'd be a hell of a rail to cover. Sometimes you just have to show a little gamble is all. With that said I'm not betting a dime either way, just trying to gauge where the sense of community is in this place.
If they do come to town, I'm good for some sweat bets. I don't care who plays! If I like the game and the players I will bet.....lock or not...lol
