I wish! Anyone else live in an area with no events of any kind? No weekly, monthly or pro events of any kind. I would have to travel 20 hours for a pro event! Sucks hard. I emailed Mike to see if Turning Stone is full. I hate to waste that much money travelling to an event that I probably won't cash in, but 3 years without playing is horrible.

I got to play 2 events last year and really enjoyed them, Jimmy did a great job running the tour! It was sad news for many that the events wouldn't be held this year after losing sponsors.

Oh, that sucks a big weenie! With the global economic downturn, it really has affected everyone, sad to say. :sorry:

The only Canadian pocket billiard players I am familiar with are Jimmy, of course, Luc Salvas, Danny Hewitt, Paul Potier, Edwin Montel, Tyler Edey, Stan Tourangeau, and Ronnie Wiseman. Gerry Watson moved to Philippines, and Ronnie plays mostly in the States. Where are the other Canadian players going, I wonder.

I miss the Glass City Open in Toledo, Ohio. That week-long event used to get a lot of Canadian players.

Ontario has regular events and a big handicap tour. For the most part though, players here in Canada have a very poor selection of events. The Canadian Championships are coming soon (yearly). If the top players in Canada want to play, they are travelling to the U.S. Morra, Klatt, and Adam Smith are a few more I could add to the list and I see their names more often in U.S events.

The geography of Canada isn't a good layout for pool. Our larger cities are hours apart. A flight for a weekend event here is $500 or $600+. Not like the Eastern US with NY, NJ, Boston, Atlanta etc... within a couple hours drive. You have more people in those cities and surrounding areas than we have in all of Canada.

You folks must be doing something right. As I was joking with my friends at the BCAPL, the last six losses I have in the Vegas open singles are to Canadians from out West:shocked2:. Perhaps there are too few big table events. There must be too many on the bar box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously, who was counting anyway.
