We got home around 4am, this morning. We unloaded the car and hit the sack, so I'm just now waking up and getting to write.
We had a great time, yesterday. It was totally worth the drive!
We went to have fun and meet some fellow AZers and we definitely did that. We met a lot of other great folks, as well.
The service was great and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. I put way too much money in the jukebox, though.

The food was also terrific and we even received special orders a couple of times. Can't ask for better service than that!
Jeff-behind-the-counter was great, too. He was on the move and keeping up with things, all day. That young man has some great energy and an awesome personality to match. We definitely owe him a tip, next time we come down. We somehow got away without leaving him a well-deserved tip.
Kristen and Jamie took good care of us Saturday night and Sunday. Mike and Tracie made us feel like regular customers. Just watch them for a few minutes and you'll see they treat everyone like special friends.
Melinda was with on top of the tournament and busy, all day, but never too busy for a friendly hug or an answer to a question.
The competition was great to watch. There were some fine players, there!
After Gene got knocked out of the tournament, we watched for a while, then decided to play a few games and enjoy the evening. I figured out that I play a lot better with a mudball!!! (Imagine that!) I have missed the control I always had with a mudball. When I got use to hitting one again, I had a lot more control of my shots than I've had in a long time. It felt good to know I hadn't totally lost my game, after all. If I missed a couple of shots due to lack of focus, I did get a little frustrated, but having my game back made it easy to get back into the swing of things. (I never did like the little blue eyeball staring at me from one of those Aramith cue balls!)
All in all, this was a great event and we hope to make it back down, for the next one. If you guys announce the next one and don't hear from us, someone please make sure we know it's coming. If we can be there, we will. The atomosphere was wonderful, the equipment was well-cared for and the people were great. It was similar to the atmosphere at the family pool hall we visit most often, up here, so we felt right at home.
ftgokie.... You missed a GREAT event! Hope all is okay on the home front and you didn't have problems on the road.

I don't want to create any confusion, due to my paragraph about mudballs... The tournament was played with Aramith cue balls, but regular play on the tables is with mudballs. They keep the mudballs in pretty good shape, though. They were clean and they weren't chunked up, or anything... and they played GREAT.
