Was wondering what the powers that be consider proper tension for tightening rails, both Bar-Box and Feather strip rails? And what exactly is a T-rail table?
Thanks.
Modern feather strip rails. Somewhere between 12-15 lbs. Bar rails, normally i do by feel. Less then modern rails!
A t-rail design is common on antique tables. If you look at the side profile of a antique rail it looks like a T. The vertical part of the T was used to bolt the rails horizontally into the side of the slate versus thru the slate.
