are there any rooms in fremont ca? i'm going to be there for a couple of hours today
The place is called bay billiards.....
Ugh...only go here as an absolute last resort, and actually, I'm not even sure I'd do that. I was curious about this place and went when I had an hour to kill before going to a friend's place in Fremont.
By far, the WORST experience I've had anywhere. Talk about a real dive. This place was filthy and hot, and some of the worst equipment I've ever seen. I don't know if there was Simonis on any of the tables, but the stuff that was on mine was like carpet (almost literally). And that was the second table they gave me...the first table, which I refused - the cloth was so old, it was actually brown in spots. Also, tables are too close to each other.
Yes, now that I'm remembering this place, if that was the only way I was playing pool, I think I'd just do something else.
I think you have to go to milpitas or san jose. Both very close, and you won't even notice you left Fremont at all- it's one big continuous city out there.
I've been here, but can't be sure of story just by the picture of the sign. I do think I once lost $10 playing scotch doubles here though.

I keep trying to go to South First, but they seem to open late. They're always closed when I try, so I'd definitely call first.

This place seemed friendly and unintimidating when I happened to go in the week they opened (no idea how they are now that they've settled in):

There are better in the Bay, as I know you already know, but I'm assuming that "a couple of hours" means you have to spend it playing not driving....

Thanks Mai. i actually got a late start and didn't get to check this thread before i left so i ended up going to Crown Billiards in san ramone. it's the only place i knew how to get to without checking the gps.
