Mezz Axi : Input Please

Mezz Axi / Coring

My son went from the natural to a fancier model, but I think he's finally set on the Wenge wood model based on price and looks.I've noticed that you guys seem to be choosig Axis tat are NOT cored. I have heard many diffeent versions as to the advantages of coring and not.Forinstance, it would seem you prefer non-cored Mezz Axis. But a company like OB-! makes a big deal about their "FLC" (full length core) in the Joss butt.What's the "ups and downs" of coring.I've heard about what it is and what it does....but te marketing hype, even among custom cues seems to vary greatly. Can tou gys give me your take on coring please.It would be most helpful coming from indeoendent sources.

coring really offers cue makers more wood options and lets them adjust the weight of the cues without using a weight bolt. depending on what they core the cue with they can make it hit stiffer/softer depending on what they're looking to do. it allows them to use softer woods in cues (burls and what not) when normally they wouldn't use those woods because of how soft the wood is.

everything i've just posted is just what i've read on here. not from personal experience so don't jump all over me if i'm wrong fellas

Sure thing....either he or I will make sure to give our impressions. All of you are so helpful and responsive it's the least we can do to give our humble opinions about his Axi. The purple heart models must be the most popular. Nick's got to wait a couple or three weeks to get it.

i bet the wait's that long because they don't core the purple heart cues. i gotta figure that makes 'em hit stiffer. still no review yet?
