Stinger

I have a Bacote Stinger J/B and I wish I had kept my ebony Stinger, it was definitely a canon and a friend really wanted it.
Both cues are fairly old and have the original tips.
As far as the composition of the newer tips, patents, etc., I just look at the cue and whether or not I like it.

It's good to hear that all is well, you are doing a great job.

After the 2009 BCA Nationals I had to change my tip on my Stinger. I know Jerry has been talking about a new leather tip for a long, long time. BETTER than the phenolic.

Well I got my Stinger back from Jerry and I must say: Better isn't good enough.
1. Made my Breaks more dependable.
2. Slight increase of cue ball speed on the Break.
3. Way more accurate jump shots, and easier.
4. Able to "draw" the jump shop with little effert.

Thanks Jerry

I second that. My original stinger shaft was stolen so I ordered a new one from jerry about 3 weeks ago. The leather tip is great, lots of power and control. I suck at jumping, but this cue with leather tip does it very well. Also, i think the shaft diameter is slighty smaller and I prefer that much better too.

I exchanged a few emails through Jerry's website and was able to purchase a second leather-tipped shaft for my McDermott Stinger. Now I have both the original phenolic-tipped shaft, which I find easier to jump with (though I'm far from proficient), and the leather-tipped shaft, which has added control to my break. Kudos to Jerry for providing this option to both Jerico and McDermott Stinger owners.

Randy,

I purchased my Jerico Stinger from an online outlet (PoolDawg or Ozone, I don't remember which one ) about a year ago. How can I tell which tip is on my Stinger? If I don't have and want to have the leather tip put on my shaft from Jerry's shop, should I just contact him and make the arrangements?
