Hey guys. Anybody ever seen a cue made with Rosewood burl? The wood is found in Belize/Honduras and has some nasty figuring. Just wondering if anyone has pictures of the wood or cues made of the wood, heck, anything made of the wood. I'm thinking of having a cue made with some of it.

here you go

I found that cue, but It doesn't look very much like a good piece of rosewood burl. The pictures of the trees and woods are phenomenal however. Theres one thread by jazznpool with a PFD that was made of rosewood burl, but the thread is almost two years old and the pictures are no longer available.

i have one coming from bill schick and one from barry szamboti .. will put up pictures "when" i get them :)

Here is a cue I made of Redwood Lace Burl. It is the cue on the bottom of each pic, and the right of 1 pic. Really beautiful wood and very close relative of Rosewood burl in features and in looks.
Hope this helps,
Jim Lee

Yeah thats exactly the kind of wood I'm looking for. I've been speaking to Mr. Paul Drexler and we have a design set, he sent me some pictures of woods and boy are they beautiful, all sorts of woods. I'll ask his permission and post the picture of the forearm wood I picked out (Rosewood burl) and some others if I can, otherwise I can email to anyone who would like to see some killer woods. Kam, please let me know when you get pictures of those cues, I'd love to see them. Its a very rare wood apparently.

Try Dick Abbott. billiardcue.com

He sold a Samsara cue of all rosewood burl with an intarcia handle of cocobolla. The cue was breathtaking and he may still have pics.

The rarest wood from that family of woods is Cocobolo Burl, and in fact many people will claim it doesn't exist, however, I sold a Billy Webb cue earlier this year that had a Butt and points made from this wood. So, I would think that Rosewood Burl is out there but, good quality pieces are most likely expensive.

Here are some pieces of wood early in the process. I can only imagine what they look like when they're completed and have some finish on them. The middle piece is rosewood burl.

Left is Zircote, and the one on the right is Arizona Desert Ironwood, I have a few more pictures of nice wood if anyone is interested.

Here are a few more pictures including, some amboyna burl, some more arizona desert ironwood. The last picture is bubinga, quilted olivewood, and a hawaiian wood called kuwelia.
