It went hill-hill and Mika got a break and ended up finishing it up.
Yeah, he got a break all right. He was down 8-7 (going to Nine). Warren scratched on the break and Mika ran out. He then made a ball on the next break and ran out a very difficult and pressure packed rack to steal the win, and an extra 13K! Mika showed a lot of heart to win this one. I guarantee you there were no deals being made here. 25K for first and 12K for second. They played one game for 13K!
It was VERY intense and was an amazing show to watch. Each shot grew more and more stressful in the last rack. You could see how Mika was definitely taking his time as to not let his emotions 'shake' him out of his win. He spent a good two minutes shooing away a fly and taking deep breaths on the almost straight in 10 ball shot. Great play by both of these contenders. I'm just glad that it was a TRUE double elimination and Mika didn't get screwed out of the second set.
Off topic: In other tournaments, I still can't believe that they play double elimination tournaments and in the last match they make it sudden death. Losers bracket winner has the same chance as the winners bracket winner. I say that is very unfair to the winners bracket winner. Glad they made it true double elimination. Mika would have been effed, lol.
