i am having some issues with the tip on my main cue .. it is a McDermott C110

the issue is, as i shoot more i have made adjustments to the cue it's self ... first was adjusting the weight to about as light as it can go... next one was going from a tip shape of a Nickle to a Dime shape (which i liked a whole lot better) ...
but after a little bit of making that change i noticed something ... i can shape the tip (what came on it) and within about 2 games it has been flattened back to a nickle shape ... it seems to happen within the first 5 or 6 shots ... but by the second game it is almost smooth again and nearly flat ...
i would assume i need a different kind of tip, and maybe one that is a little harder .. but i am not sure how that will affect how i shoot (which is far from perfect, most of my shots are a little harder then they should be. but i am working on getting that under control more) ..
i have been reading over many posts on the forum in the past few weeks .. but in all honesty i feel about as lost as before i started reading ... so looking for some input from others (and help identifying what kind of tip may be on the cue so i have a better idea of what i have as compared to what i need to go to next) ...
I have a C100 that i break with ... and the tip does fine on it .. but i leave it with a nickle shape so it doesn't show up on it like it does on the main one i use...
thanks for your help....
