Shot from last night (Thanks Grady!)

Last night I was playing 8 ball with a buddy. The guy is a good person. But man, he hates losing to me!

I'd messed up the position on my previous shot and wound up snookering myself behind the one. I could see the excitement on his face. He was sure I was done for! That's when I uncorked this offensive kick for the 8 in the side. The look on his face when it went in was priceless! He packed up his cue and gave up for the night. :grin:

It's really not that hard of a shot once you know it and have practiced it. I learned it from watching Grady's tape "The Finer Points of Pool". Thanks Grady!

BTW, Lil Joe Villalpando has a very good solution for this type of kick too. His DVD would show you how to go 2 rails with something like 10:30-2 spin. Much better control & more likely not sell out if you don't pocket it (slower kick than required to back-spin it).

I also thought the two railer would be the easier kick. Not taking anything away from the original poster, that was a nice shot!

Depending on the opponent, and how the 3,6 lies, I might have even moved the one up table. If you go for the kick and miss the 8 its down there for an easy breakup of the 3-6.

I might even shoot the one into the 8 to move it up by the corner pocket. As where it is setting if he gets ball in hand he can just bump the 3 and you would still really need to kick the 8 to make it.

Just a couple things to think about.
