Cue Case maker or stock case wanted.

I got some great input here when I asked about the cue makers here, and I have one coming soon. My problem is I might want a new case, because I'm now using some POS I found in the closet.

I have owned: Jack Justis, Guisppe, many Porpers, Instrokes (is John Collins still in CO Springs?), and a few others.

I love the higher end stuff, but it's too fancy/too heavy for daily drivers. (for me). I walked into Hard Times a few years ago with my JJ case, and was surrounded by sharks in a few minutes:eek: (too much heat for my speed).

Anyway, I'm looking for a fairly plain, leather maybe, 2X4, sleek and light, not too fancy. I don't like metal hardware or the minimum required. (which is why I don't jump on the Brunswick ones for sale right now (the latch). I need two pockets, one long enough for a J/B handle, and a shoulder strap. Not too expensive, as I often go to some dives. A place for my heat might be nice:grin-square:

Any general ideas here or any PM with what I have in mind are all appreciated. A good used one that's a real buy is also OK. Thanks for any help.

John Collins

This is John who used to live in Loveland, CO. I can do whatever you need. I have a new company and we specialize in all custom work. We can do a case with zero metal hardware if you like. Vere sleek, light and subdued.

my website is www.jbcases.com

Or, check out some of the new production cases I have designed at www.cuesight.com and see if one of them suits you.

Also here is a great sleek black case that you might like that we did,

the GTF Prestige modle 2x4: found at http://www.indyq.com/cases/GTF/index03.html

<I need to learn how to quote stuff:). Anyway, yes, that's the guy. I ran into him in LV about 10 years ago, and he was moving production from Germany to Taiwan or China, IIRC> I THOUGHT he owned the Instroke line, but could be wrong. At the time he was in CO, again, IIRC.

Hey JB, those pics of your sleek case is almost exactly what I want. I'll check it out later today. (I'f I don't get called out.again):(

And, again, you guys are really great!

Wow that brings back memories. Were you there when I won Robby's tournament using my McDermott that I broke the night before? I have a picture somewhere of me playing in that event and the shaft is taped up where I put it back together.

I have often wondered about the old crew and how everyone is doing. I am good. Email me at jb@jbideas.com and we can catch up more. Do you have any pictures from back then?

For everyone else this was from when I was 20 and stationed in Schwaebisch Hall in Germany and played on the league team in the area.

It would be really cool to find our what everyone is doing these days.

Man,that's crazy. You got an email these days,I'll let you know what's going on with the old crew.
unbelievable

After a bit of research, I should have said "Barton" not "Collins" right?

Didn't you have a piece of Instroke back then??

If so, I'll reveal who I am in private PM:wink:

That there is one FINE case!

AZ, that is a very BAD (meaning good:) looking case. I love the guys that design out of the box and it ends up being a classic.

However, that thing would last about 2 minutes after I went to the bathroom at some dives I hang out in:grin:

Sometimes, I have to swing my break cue while backing out the door........

Hence, I need an UNDER stated design that won't attract too much heat.

If it's got a place for my Glock, then, maybe.......

I founded Instroke in 1991. I had a piece of the German Instroke until 98. In 99 I moved to Colorado and founded Instroke USA. I had that until 2003 when I sold the trademark to the Taiwan company that now produces Instroke cases.

Barton is the name of my second wife. I took her name because she was an only child and wanted to carry on the name and I don't do hyphens.

Sounds mysterious....looking forward to your PM :-)
