How bout those bronx bombers baby

make sure that you take your seatbelt off and disable the airbag before you aim yourself at the tree. lol

wow the yankees won....

what a wonderful cinderella story..

I really loved the way they killed the twins by forcing them to red eye to yankee stadium after their biggest win of the season that ended in the wee hours of the morning and play the following afternoon

so when will we force baseball to play under a salary cap?

never.. the Yankees would be destroyed...

Congrats to the Yankees!

Since they first won it in 1923, they've actually won nearly a third of all world series, incredible! The amazing thing is that they won it this year playing well below their true game in the post season.

Yankees are the best baseball team and perhaps the best sports team we will ever see in our lifetimes.

I'm wondering just how many they've won now - oh yeah, I think it's been mentioned about 4 Billion times this post season - #27. Sheesh, has there ever been a team that's darlings of the media more than the Yankees?! 90% of the country DOESN'T care (how many they've won). Shove it down the throats of local stations, sports radio, etc. We know, they have the biggest payroll, arguably the best player in baseball, their own station, and this and that, and this and that - enough.

They aren't getting any younger, so it's about time they start hand-picking the best talent from every other team again (since only they can afford to do that).

ok, rant over. I do want to congratulate local boy and Yankee manager Joe Gerardi on his World Series title....stick with 'em Joe, George will buy you a few more.

PS. Matsui owes half of the MVP to Pedro! lol

I guess that's what happens when you buy your team and build a billion dollar little league field for them to play on. I am glad for Texiera though, he is a solid baseball player.

...snip...

Ain't that the truth. He had his number and made Pedro look so vulnerable it was completely predictable after a while. Pedro did admirably outside of Matsui.

I feel bad for Pedro - "sonny" (Daddy's boy). That's a tough way to (likely) be going out. I hope he doesn't come back out, his career was a great one and it could get ugly. He's got nothing to be ashamed of this year at all, conversely he's got a lot to be proud of.

Let them impose a salary cap on baseball when they impose a salary cap on corporate America. Let freedom ring! 27 BABY!

The Yankees suck.
Umps were paid off.
Camera guys were in on it.

It was rigged from the get go.

You think so? Socialism for baseball?!

Why are you blaming the Yankees for the inability of franchise owners to invest in their teams? The fact that Steinbrenner is willing to pour his last cent into that ball club is a true testament to greatness of the Yankees. I'm sorry that (insert team here) doesn't want to spend any money to keep the good players.
