Holy Moly!!!

This coming Monday Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante are coming to the pool hall here that I play in. Really looking forward to this one. Photos will be taken and shared.

Sweet.
Perhaps they will give you some lessons.:grin:

Wow! I mean that with good and bad feelings. Efren and Django were fantastic. True gentlemen of the game and amazing to watch. Unfortunately they're are on tour with Cosmo Japan and the guy that runs the show is a f*cking c*ck in the biggest sense of the word. I've known him damn near 20 years now and I've never really been that fond of him. Tonight sealed it. Had he stepped up when I pushed him back I probably would be facing deportation charges after beating him within an inch of his life. What a pr*ck.

Here's what happened. It started when Efren started in on his first challenge match. Douchebag comes to the front and announces to everyone that no photos are allowed to be taken unless you join the challenge matches. Let me take one step back and tell you that a challenge match cost 100 bucks for a race to 6. He then went on to say that if you get in the challenge and want a photo with Efren you can't use a flash because Efren's eyes were sensitive to it. Hey, I'm cool with that part of it. It's just the way the guy announces everything. He walks around like he's the king of the world and he talks down to people. Real twat! Anyway, I shook that stuff off and just put it down to Cosmo being money grubbing bastards. No reason to let it get to me. Later, Efren was sitting there doing nothing. No challenges on the horizon, because who in the hell can afford a hundred bucks 2 days before payday? Payday is monthly here and it's usually on the 24th or 25th. Today is the 23rd. So anyway, Efren is sitting there doing nothing so I walk over to the table and ask him to show us some "magician shots" He seemed totally up for it so he comes to the table and sets up a shot and makes it. Everyone is clapping etc... so I ask him to make this really tough bank that I saw him do at an exhibition a long time ago. Well, Mr. Cosmo sees this going on and he comes over and gets right in my face and tells me that Efren isn't allowed to do any of that stuff, only the challenge matches. So I said "Why" and he replies with a questioning "WHY?!?!?". Well, I dislike this douchebag to begin with and he's right up in my face. So instead of letting him explain anything I put my hand on his chest and pushed him back and said "Ok, ok, whatever!" while walking back to my seat. Now, I didn't shove him or anything like that, I just pushed him back out of my face. Nothing aggressive. I stayed clear of him the rest of the night though because if he would have said something to me he probably would have set me off. No scene was caused. The only people that saw it were the 2 or 3 people sitting right there in front of us. It wasn't any big deal.

I'm sorry, I think it's wrong that they treat those guys like they're slaves or something. "Efren's not allowed to do that" WTF is that?

Other than that, it was cool. Efren is amazing to watch as is Bustamante. I paid the hundred and played against Bustamante. I felt sorry for him. Everyone was gathered around Efren's table and Bustamante was over on another table with, I swear to God, not one person watching him and zero names on the challenge list. I jumped over there and did the challenge. I also got to sit there and talk to him for quite a while. Seeing as how I was the only English speaker in the room it probably made it easier on Django too.

That stinks they treat those guys like slaves. Efren should be able to whatever he wanted. It sounded like he was enjoying the show. What a Richard.

Pretty cool to win three games though.

You know, it probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if I didn't despise this c*cksucker from a long time ago. He's such an ass. I ran into him in Vegas once at an expo. I followed Japanese etiquette and said hi. I mean, we run into each other on the other side of the planet, stop and say hi at least, but he just tipped his head like he was King Arthur or some sh!t and kept walking. He's a total douche!

some of you have probably seen him before if there were any Japanese in attendance at a tournament or expo....

Thanks mully... it does seem way out of line they way they acted. There's a balance that needs to be struck between people overwhelming the legends of the billiard world and allowing the fans to interact with them.

The setup seems more like a circus sideshow.

Mully,
You showed a lot of class, especially accepting a challenge match from Bustamante and letting him win.

Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the post and the pic. What an unfortunate occurence. One lousy guy can ruin the whole experience for you. I can't believe you scored 3 games against Francisco! You must be pretty good. Meeting both those guys and seeing them play would be a blessing. You get a greenie.

And the reason this guy would not allow any exhibitions = $.
And the reason this guy would not allow pic's unless you posted a C = $

In your opinion, did they walk out the door with more money than they would have had they allowed some exhibition and unrestricted picture taking?

(BTW, thanks for sharing. It's unfortunate you experienced negativity about an event you'd hoped would bring only positive life memories.)
