What are friends for?

Joey, I've had both books for many years and treasure them. My WOP has over 150 autographs, and some from players that have left us.

To name a few of of the departed ones, Strawberry Brooks, Eddie Taylor, Tony Ellen, Jack Breit, Cornbread Red, Bill Staton, Leonard Rucker, Jay Swanson, Johnny Ervolino, and many others. Edit:Sorry to have to add the name of Bill Marshall (Willie Joplin)to this list. I just found out about his death.

I know you will enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine. How nice to have a friend like yours. Looks like soon I'll be needing even more weight.

We all know you really wanted a Burger King gift card, but you are just too gracious to say so.

With that said, WOW! what a thoughtful gift that will be treasured for the rest of your life. Your friend must feel as good giving you this great gift as you are to receive it. Well close, anyway. It's a rarity when you can think of the "perfect" gift to get someone, and it feels great when you can.

Wow Frank, that is some awesome quality names that you have for your WOP book, especially the ones who have since passed on.

I will have some fun collecting the names. If we pass each others way, I hope you will spare a few moments and let me look at your special book.


BTW, could you tell me the story behind Bill Marshall (Willie Joplin)?
