25 second shot clock

Start time both days 2:30 p.m. EST

Saturday
Semi-finals are the first to five.

John Higgins v Shaun Murphy
Judd Trump v Ronnie O'Sullivan

Sunday
The final is the first to seven.

O'Sullivan has won the Premier League for the last five years. Last year he made more money from it than from the ranking tournaments.

The League, composed of eight top players, has been running for the past few months with two matches every Thursday evening at different locations around the UK. The matches were six frames.

2 points awarded for a win, one point for a draw.

1,000 pounds for winning a frame, 1,000 pounds for a century. Prize money increases for the semis and the final.

Ronnie is playing like doo-doo brown.

Heck..I might even take a 100 point spot from him, the way he is playing..

:D

I have never really watched a Snooker match and payed much attention to it, but this isn't half bad to watch. Even if O'Sullivan is playing with blinders on.

Thanks for the links guys. Made my Sunday :)

I guess I don't know all the rules to English Snooker...... what contitues a fouol? I see them pushing up behind balls and "no rail" shots" with no penalty..... what's the deal? Anyone know??

There is no requirement to contact a rail in snooker. Just gotta hit the ball..

So, when you pot a red, you can choose to roll up to a color, forgoing your chance to score on a color.

Then, if your opponent fails to contact a red first, then penalty points are in effect.

Thanks, Russ. I've played a lot of snooker, but we always played you needed to hit a rail.. ... How much is a foul? 7? Or the number of the colored ball........ 4 or more? Any other different rules than American Snooker?

WTF? Anyone see the Mosconi Cup commercial? Why can't we have those sort of commercials for pool in the U.S.? I daresay we might have a few more fans..

I am not sure how the penalty points go on the lower colors and the reds, but I am pretty sure that the higher colors, a foul costs the number of the ball.

That's the way I always played it, but I've seen it played where every scrarch was 7.

I played on these 12 foot tables a little back in the 70's! Talk about tough! They look like a football field! I had a 10 footer in my bar, and it was tough enough! LOL
