Tonight and into tomorrow morning. First big snow of the season but it's nothing unusual for this part of the country. Plows will be out tomorrow and everyone will be back to their normal routines by Thursday.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Starting to wind down now here. Should make for a scenic drive to the tourney ;)

Do you know if there is a cheap $40-50 hotel nearby?

Yes, on Hwy 75 (your exit off I-90) there are three. The first is right by the Road Ranger I believe is a Best Western hotel. Just past that is a motel called the Knights Inn (budget accomodations). A little further to the lights at the intersection with Hwy 251 is a Ramada Inn on the corner.

You can also check on Hwy 81 on the Beloit side (becomes I-43 going east) and I think there are 3 hotels, restaurants and shopping. These are still within 5 - 10 mins of the Carom Room.

I'm sure you can check them out online for prices or call ahead.

Last call for no masters 8-ball!!

65 paid entries as of right now. Make sure you are there early tomorrow if you haven't paid yet.

No phone registrations accepted and that's true for everyone :)

I have been informed that as of midnight the tourney is full.

Looks like prepaid is the way to go now.

Duane, do you think Dave will wait untill 12:00 to start the calcutta or start earlier ?

Too late

I may get there before the end of the year???

I like the fact that you keep it to one day. I will not attend the Quimcy, IL tournament, due to the fact that it drags out for two days.

I will have to look at your schedule.

Another well run tourney........
They had so many people that couldn't get in the 8 ball, that they ran a 9 ball tourney on the big tables.

Another outstanding turnout... Thanks to all of the players and spectators who make this tourney a great success ;)

A full field of 96 players, $1500 added and a $6600+ calcutta to make over $10,500 in payouts!

For those who did show up but were closed out of the main event we offered up a $35 entry fee 9-ball race to 7 on the 9' tables. A nice field of 16 players gave it a shot and another $250 was added to the purse to make for a nice payout.

Please check back on the Carom Room website on Monday or Tuesday for complete player lists, payouts and results.

9 fott tournament

I wish that I would have know about that.

That is nice that you are able to do that. How many 9 ft. table do you have, and what are they?

The Carom Room has 14 new Diamond "pro cut" 7' tables, 6 Brunswick Gold Crown 9' tables, 1 Diamond 9' smart table, 1 Brunswick 10' snooker table and 1 Verhoeven 10' billiard table.

The 9' tables may be upgraded with Diamond tables for next fall :)

For anyone planning on attending it's advisable to get your entry paid in advance.

The finals aren't limited to 96, are they Duane?

We have two more "regular" no master events coming up in January that will be limited to 96. The tournament committee has began discussions on opening the "final" events to 128. A decision will be made by January 2nd.

Is there any chance all the events will be opened to 128 for next year?

I think I'm going to come down for the 9-ball on the 2nd. If anyone from there comes up to Oshkosh this weekend I might just send my entry with then to make sure I have a spot. I'm coming down for the no-masters 9-ball finals in March (on the weekend of my birthday ) for sure so maybe I'll send my entry for that too. LOL.
