Played Scott Lee yesterday

You are absolutely right. Scott has a very solid game. The last time I played him was "instructors night", the night before we start a pool school class. Scott, Randy, and I were playing a low stakes ring game. If I recall, I think Randy ended up about 8 or 10 bucks up after the whole night. But what I do remember is how much fun we all had, and how many great shots I saw that night.

If you think instructors can't play, just watch one of those guys for an hour or two. All that time demonstrating proper fundamentals has a way of making them pretty solid!

Oh yeah, I suspect there were more than a couple of moments of laughter during your time with Scott as well. Great guy, lots of fun, and a great teacher.

Steve

Thanks for the note Neil, Scott pass through the area where I live now and then and we just missed getting together not long ago. I have another chance soon but that may not work out do to previous engagement. But sooner or later I will be able to meet Scott.

Scott always stops in at the Flamingo when he is down here.
He is a blast to hang out with and a great player.
We always look forward to his visit, it's an honor shoot pool with him.

Who ever doubted that Scott could play!!!!

If you can get him to shut-up he can put-em-up with the best....SPF=randyg

Wished I had known I woulda come down and watched. :)

I will be out and about this evening at Sands West for a bit and probably the Breakroom. Heard a rumor about possible action.

Action is supposed to be at breakroom at 7. Thats the rumor.

I am getting a tip done at 7:30ish near Sands west so we will be stopping in there to see whats going on after that. If dead will head over to breakroom.

One of the greatest players that I never heard of, probably just has bad luck when it comes to playing tournys. Maybe he dont even play in tournys lucky for everbody. The old saying is the ones that can go to work and the ones that can not, teach.

What does denzy know??

Wow, I guess since you never heard of somebody, they can't play! Uhhh OK??

FYI, Scott Lee is a fine instructor and has contributed much to the sport. What exactly do you contribute to the game or this forum besides negative posts blasting the likes of Allen Hopkins and Scott, just curious??

The old saying that you brought up is funny but not so accurate, some of the smart ones teach because there is guaranteed money doing that unlike the tournament players, who don't know if they are going to get a paycheck or not.

Scott also does a fine trick shot exhibition as well.. He can play and as far as I know Scott is not a tournament player but he can play very well and he is a super nice person, I can tell you that for certain.

Merry Christmas, Joe

I was reading this thread all relaxed and everything and then the post above me screamed at me and my eyes started bleeding and got all dizzy from the BOLD COLORS

Lord almighty dude, lose the bold .. please???:)

It was a great deal of fun for me. It's true that I don't get much of an opportunity to play, because I'm always teaching, but I sure do enjoy it, given the opportunity. Neil has a very compact, but deadly accurate stroke. His shotmaking and CB control were beautiful to watch. We we playing on a tight pocket 9' Diamond too. I have been a tournament player in the past (as well as a professional gambler), and have beaten my share of champions too (my best finish in a national event was 3rd), and I will occasionally get into local or regional tournaments, if I have the time and opportunity. My focus has always been helping others to develop their potential, and as such, it's never my objective to "show how good I play", but rather demonstrate what the student has the potential to achieve for themselves.

Yesterday, Scott p.m.'ed me and said he would be in town for a little while and wanted to know if I wanted to play some. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity. Don't get to see him very often, and how can you play a great instructor and not pick up a few tips??

I have to admit, it was a little strange at first. Scott, being Scott, at times will automatically stand behind you to get a good look at your stroke. That was weird, because for the first time, knowing someone I was playing was behind me, I didn't have to worry about what the heck he was doing back there.

I won the 9 ball, and we went even on the one-hole. For those of you that wonder if Scott can play or not, he can. He doesn't actually play much because he is always teaching someone else how to play. And, we all know how important table time is. But, in the several hours we played, not once did I see him take what I would consider to be the wrong shot or the wrong position route. (duh, he is the teacher).

Thanks Scott for coming up here and giving me a good time! It was a real pleasure!

I have no idea who Mr. Denzy may be, but those of you who may call him friend.....should talk, or beat, some sense into him. To come to AZ....and begin posting disparaging remarks about one of pools true gentleman aka Scott Lee.....is the epitome of foolishness. This guy must like seeing his name in red here.....yesterday when I logged on he had 9 posts and was already sportin that red rep bar. engaging him in a battle of wits would be akin to dueling with an unarmed opponent.....IMHO

Engaging somebody in a battle of wits is not name calling. I noticed Scott Lee didnt resort to name calling like Bob and Neil. Only the truth will set you free.

I KNOW some people can get all cranked up about being both a great player and teacher.

IMO one has very little to to with the other. If Scott can diagnose, instruct, and teach you to become a better player, who cares if he can pocket a ball?

I know this is the point of many, too, but just wanted to reiterate this.

Oh, and BTW, Scott can play, too!

It's sad to see that many here fail to recognize your genius. Congrats on having so much bad rep. in so few posts. Not many could pull it off.

No I not joking, either.

It goes to show you then even when an anonymous poster can go way over the top being obnoxious, people still fall victim to feeling abused, like it really means something.

Sir.....i was once told that arguing with someone on the internet was the same as competing in the special olympics......even if you win your still retarded. i have seen your posts in this thread and others and the theme always is the same....."he teaches cause he can't play". Have you ever played this gentleman.....by all accounts he is able to hold his own in any setting. have you given anything to the promotion of this sport other than the vitrolic spew that you think passes for informed opinion.....I didn't think so. IMO you not only owe Scott a public apology......you also owe him a debt of gratitude for all he contributes to your sport.
Man up and apologize!!!
