White Diamond Tip

as i said before it seems the common answer is to drill 3 tiny holes in the bottom of the tip real shallow with a tiny drill bit. I actually talked to joe picone, and he recommended this method. He also recommended the new-ish gorilla super glue because it comes withthe impact resistant formula which has little rubber particles for sideways strength. as i said mine has been on for months now without any problems.........best jump tip i have found out there

that is great news sir. i had installed with small holes too. i hope to try out mine tomorrow night. :)

6 months ago I installed a white diamond tip on my old Fury break/jump. I grinded the all phenolic tip and ferrule and glued it on with Loctite.

Works great for breaking and especially for jumping.

I have an new break cue coming with a leather tip, but I am certainly going to keep using a white diamond jumping.

I can highly recommend it :)

thanks for your inputs sir. :) so far, i have received all good comments about it, except for that it's not that easy to install as a regular tip. but it can be resolved. i hope mine holds for long. i'll do a hard test on it tonight.

What kind of ferrule is that on your J/B? Almost looks corian or some kind of bone. I'm curioius...

hi frank. it's delrin. :)

ok, i have tried the tip friday night in a local tournament. it breaks fine, better control than phenolic, but i feel a bit more power with phenolic than the white diamond. jumping though, i needed to adjust. as i was used to phenolic and i jump shots easily with the phenolic tip, i had to adjust with the white diamond. at first, i mis-cued the jump shot, it slipped. i adjusted my stroke and finally i got the hang of it after a few tries. my personal opinion is, based on my own experience, it's much easier to jump shot using a phenolic tip. the glue holds well up to now... even though i break really hard. i was really trying to see if the tip will fly. so far, it hasn't. tomorrow, sunday, i'll test-run it once more. i need to work on the jump shots.

I think WD gives more control with the cue ball. I cut it shorter for a client here and he is very happy with it, he said it jumps and breaks better like this. Maybe you can try it.

> I've only done one,but it hasn't come back yet. I used Devcon 5 Min epoxy and left it clamped with the live center overnight. Tommy D.

so far so good, i used it again last night at a local tournament. i was breaking like hell, jumped shots like 7-8 times i guess. tip still holds. :) i have adjusted and jumping is so easy now.

I think the fact that you mis-cued and couldnt jump very well might have something to do with the tip breaking in. I dont know if it happened to anyone else but the same thing happened to me. The first couple of jumps and breaks didnt feel all that solid after spinning it on the lathe and shaping the tip. but after using it for the night it started to feel better and better,

I know that its a layered resin tip, but maybe it compacts a little bit thats that is what gives it the better break and jump that i am used to now.

Just my .02
