Gday,my first post here,I couldnt find anywhere to intro,so here will do, i have just found this forum, mainly reading the mechanics page anyway, from australia, played a bit of pool, but getting into a bit of snooker theese days.have been reading the argument/discussion on how many levels u need to level a 3 peice table, interesting, anyway i have some.Qs thinking in buying a small table for my games room, does anyone here know where the quality tables are made here in Australia?have looked at a few but i am still unsure!!Read up a bit on this forum I am pretty confident i could get a decent quality table strip it and get it to my place and maybe have a go at leveling the slate?I have been panelbeating and painting cars for about 20 or so years.so if the slate is dodgy I maybe could flatten it?what do you all think.reading the last bit in the post i was saying before."lapping the slate" sounds like it might be an option if its not perfect would it be something that could be done in my workshop before screwing the slate down to the base of the table?anyway will have a few more QS for you all if you dont mind.thanks for your time .cheers

I am no expert here but I would suggest that you post up some of the brand names that "are" available in Australia and then the guys here can possibly give you some assistance or opinions. Just my thoughts!

Appears to be 2 piece slate from the underside picture. Not much in the way of framework for slate support. I'd pass.

Of the 115 tables listed on ebay australia I'd look into these 2 which look to be rather stoutly built.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Pool-Billiar...AU_Snooker_Pool_Billiards?hash=item4a9eaf4c61

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Billiards-Po...AU_Snooker_Pool_Billiards?hash=item3caa548b57

Or this Brunswick

I also looked up Craigslist and only 1 POS table listed.

Hi, If that's whats available for $350, then you should be looking for tables around $1,000 . You get what you pay for.

Thanks for the reply i will keep looking around not sure if they are exactly the same, but some people want $1000+ for tables made by the same company and pretty much the same weak looking frame.thanks again
