I'm not sure if this has been a thread or not. 3/8-10 pins vary with cue makers for different reasons. My question is, can a shaft from one style fit another style of 3/8-10? thank you.

Im not a cue maker but i have a McDermitt and i think the pin is a 3/8-10
pin. I bought a JD cue from the phill.. the cue has a 3/8-10 modified pin.
The shaft from the McDermitt will fit on the JD cue but the shaft from the JD
will not fit on the McDermitt. The threads are the same but the end of the pin is different.
i have a sneakiest pete on the way to me and
i know that it has a 3/8-10 pin, but no idea if it is standard or modified.
does anyone know which kind it is so i can find an extra shaft that fits properly. (properly meaning snug & tight)
i have to wait until cue arrives so i can measure joint diameter, but if someone knows and can tell me, i can start looking.
thanks, -marlo
The one I have has a modified 3/8-10 pin made of G10. The minor diameter of the pin is about .308". The joint diameter on my cue is larger than average at about .860", but I have a hunch the joint diameters vary somewhat from cue to cue.
...
so if i may ask... what are your thoughts on the sneakiest that you own? [performance-wise]
