Wasn't sure where to put this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.
For the last month or so (on and off) my dad and I have been working on restoring my brother in law's pool table. We're actually almost done with it now, we're going over soon to get the cloth on the slate and finish it up.
I could kick myself for not getting more pictures when we started, but oh well, here's the progress so far:

This slate was a ***** to get on, but we managed. (leverage is a wonderful thing. :p)

My dad did a lot of fabrication work, as there was a lot of missing pieces.

finished, and with aluminum laminate on it:

I did my best to get the cloth on the rails, I think I did a decent job.

Used some spent .45 shells for the sights

EDIT: whoa, sorry for the humongous images. photobucket resize doesn't seem to work.

.45 Auto rail sights are REALLY cool!

I might have to do that on my table. I've got a white oak table with white sights and it's driving me crazy.

Cheers guys!
The .45 shells wound up being the exact size of the pearl that was on there, so it worked out perfectly.

We finished the table today!

Fixing the chips in the slate with bondo:

Gluing the cloth down:

It wouldn't stretch completely around the side pocket, so I had to glue another piece of felt to cover it up

And done:
