I've never heard anything about this tool. I had a medium and a soft Kamui tip on my shafts, but I didn't know that you were supposed to use a special tool to keep the surface roughed up.

You don't need a special tool for Kamui tips. I use an ultra tool, and it works just fine. I think this is just a neat tool designed by Kamui, but will work on any tip.

Also, I know you mentioned that the Black Medium and Soft were still a bit too hard. You may want to pick up a Super Soft, as I've heard a few people describe them like a Sniper/Everest combo. I've also heard a few players that like Elk Master tips switched to these and have nothing but great things to say about them.
