Another night at league

I have been working hard for 3 days to the point of exhaustion. Muscle aching beyond belief. I contemplated not going to league tonight.

My 8 ball match I lost 4 straight. I had a few moments when it looked like I knew what I was doing, but then I would lose focus and leave my self without any shot at all. The guy I was playing played smart. He was very good at calculating shots, When he had no shot he would play a safety and leave me notta. The last game he got to the 8 and I had 4 balls on the table. He missed a hard cut and I tried to make him pay for it but chocked on the 8 leaving him as easy shot.

9 ball it was a race to 31 and I lost the lag and he made me pay for it. he got the nine and 3 balls on the snap. From then on we both played pretty even. Then I look up and my captain who is keeping score says you just need 2 more he needs 6. I made that shot and blew the next one. He finished the rack and tied it up 30-30. He broke dry and left me a low percentage cut on the one. My brain was still hearing my captain and saying just make this and its over. I choked. Not as much because I missed the shot but because my I had tunnel vision and lost focus. I could have played a safety but it never occurred to me until the ride home. I could only see offense. I could only think just make this ball.

I still had fun even though I was dead tired and lost. I do have to make a post for advice on my mental game.

Sounds like it's not so much your mental game, it's your physical muscles that are the problem. If you can recover a bit before league (hot bath? quick nap?) I'm sure your shooting will improve and you'll be in no danger letting the other guy reach 31.

If you have no choice about going into league dead tired, at least take some satisfaction that you made them work for it and gave your teammates some hope, rather than skipping it and forfeiting (if that's how your league works). It's a shame though that even when work is done you can't come to league as a way to have fun and unwind. It sounds almost like more work.

CreeDo Being tired didn't help physically or mentally as it hurt my focus, but I knew that going in and just did my best to have fun. My team is not in the running so it didn't hurt them that I lost either.

It's a shame to have to play when you're so beat, but that's how it goes sometimes, huh? Been there and done that, certainly.

I've found sometimes when I'm physically tired I play better, because I'm sooooo relaxed, but when you're mentally wiped out, that is another story entirely. I'm still looking for a fix for that!

Hey, the great thing about league is there is (almost) always next week! Good luck.
