I'm no table mechanic...but what the hell:

860:

24oz
90% wool / 10% nylon
The most standard worsted cloth in tournaments these days and for quite a while.
Considered "fast" cloth when speaking generally, as in comparison to all cloths which include non-worsted cloths that have heavy nap surface. From an overall perspective, it is in the fast category, but not fast when compared to other worsted cloths.

760:

20oz
70% wool / 30% nylon
A lot faster than 860.

860 is the ideal cloth for the game of 9-ball. You can let your stroke out and move the cueball around and it will be more controllable. You almost never need to roll a ball on 860, even on short range cuts. 760 is too fast for 9-ball in my opinion. But I like it a lot more for games like 14.1 and one-pocket. Short very slow rolls on 860 sometimes "wobble"...they are more true on 760 in my experience, and more of those shots come up in 14.1 and one-pocket than in 9-ball, also those games don't have nearly as much cue ball movement.

My favorite is 860HR. This is 860, but in a 70/30 blend. It's faster than 860, but slower than 760. It's right in the sweet spot of perfect speed. Most people love it. HR stands for high resistance. This cloth is more resistant to getting marked up by the balls (such as the marks made when you break). All games play well on this cloth. This cloth does well in humid environments too (whereas 860 in my opinion does not).
