Just wasted $60

Unforseen problems

I'm guessing that they were allowing a little "wiggle room" in case they popped one of the slate seams. if that had happened and they had to take one half of the rails off, take out the staples and peel the cloth back to relevel the slate seam, and then put the table back together, all for sixty dollars, they would have wished they stuck to $100. Because none of that happened due to their expertise and skill and LUCK, $60 dollars feels like they got over on you. Really its just a couple of gallons of fuel and a few pints of beer. Be careful if you try to move it because if YOU pop the slate seam YOU PAY $$$$$. Keep practicing and youll win back that $60 in no time.

Why move the table 6"?

True. But considering I purchased the table from them (new) they just set it up in Feb. It would have been nice if they would have told me how to do it. JMO. Not to mention I returned a $250 accessory kit they delivered with the table that I did not purchase.

Why would you even bring this up? Do you think they owe you something for being honest?

Why did the table need to be moved?
Who decided on the original placement?
Did they advise you on the original placement?

I did it was too close to the one wall for a 59" cue. When they set it up I was thinking the min distance 60" but the edge of table not the playing surface so it's my fault. I told them as close to that wall as it needed to be. Had he edge of the table been 60" away it would have not have to be moved.

No they don't but she did make the comment that they would not forget about it when I needed something. All is well though they did cut some off since they was in the area. A special trip would have been 40 miles for them to get here

True. Had to move it cause it was too close to one wall

He never said he refused to pay he just said he thought $60 was to much for what they did. To me the price sounds about right.

$60!

we had to move our table (nyc loft) because the feng shui was so terrible when we moved in. also the table was directly in my skating path when i tear around the place chased by my two dogs!

$60! wowser bowser!. i could only wish!

i think you negotiated a very good price, well done!

Feng Shui? Skating path? Two dogs in a loft? Who are you anyway? Is your last name Trump? :D

hmph!

attention mr. jay helfert:

sadly, or gladly, i have no affiliation with any of the trumps!

i know that soho is a cliche, i didn't really want to buy here. but, the poor guy who lost his business in the recession told us that he would rather we buy the loft at a bargain price than lose it to the bank.

we ended up paying more than we had to and then when his new rental fell through we let him stay an extra two and a half months at no charge.

well, ok, i still feel kind of guilty, like we took advantage? but he thanked us and thanked us. so maybe it was an ethical and moral wash? i guess i hope so.

still conflicted,

sunny

p. s. the loft is just a big old factory space, why not skate! and, by the by, perhaps, just perhaps, pool rooms might benefit from some feng shui attention! just a thought!

p. p. s. are you a dog hater? you better not match up with my dog walker!

p. p. p. s. the fact that our loft came with a table, means that the pool community is blessed with my presence! just be thankful it didn't come with two tables, imagine how gabby i might be!

p. p. p. p. s. to everyone: don't you just love it that when you log in here, a message 'welcome sunnyone' pops up! of course the message contains your own name!

Correct. $60 for a 15 minute job seemed high when they was already there in the area. I guess by other replies it was a good price. Like one posted that IF something went wrong they would have to fix it. Either way I'm happy plus I got $40 of it back tonight at the pool hall in about a hours time.

I'm surprised you refused to pay the $60, it doesn't seem outrageous to me at all.

I did not refuse to pay it. I knew the cost before they ever came. I just stated I thought for the time they was here (15 min if that) it seemed a bit much since they did not make a special trip to Dalton (there 40 miles away) They was already down here for another job.
