I just got to my hotel in scottsdale AZ, can someone recommend somewhere nice to play?

I'm not really interested in action other than fun cheap games for $2 to $5 per game or $10 to $20 sets. Small to medium tournaments for B to A players would be ideal.

Take Scottsdale Rd south past the 202.
Take a left on University.
Kolby's is on the right side.
If you hit Hayden, you've gone too far...turn around (now Kolby's is on the left)

Thanks Drew looks to be about 20 miles from my hotel. I just called them, open tournaments on Tuesday and Thursday, sounds like fun to me.

Tuesday there is a 9 Ball/Wild Ball, but you need to be RATED in AZ to play! PM Fast Lenny for details! No Rating No play!

That is not true..You can walk in on the night of the tournament and play....You will probably have to play as a 10 rated player..but you CAN play.

Yes and as I said for him to PM Fast Lenny, and Lenny knows who to point him too to get rated. Why should he have to play as a 10 if he is a SIX!

As a 10 I'll probably get slaughtered, not that I’m opposed to that, I'm just looking for some fun. In the Detroit area, I’m usually ranked as a solid B+ to A- player depending on the field.

On a very weak APA 8 ball league I was easily rated a 7, but a 5 or 6 is probably much more realistic on a tougher league.

I'm currently rated an 8 on a BCA league, but that's only after 4 weeks in.

I can break and run several racks per night in 8 ball on an 8 foot table and have done it 3 consecutive times twice in my life. In 9 ball, I can run out an open table with BIH about 5% to 10% of the time and I might do it from the break 2 or 3 times per night if nothing is too badly tied up. I don’t play very often on 9 footers, so I don’t have many stats for that.

I don't know where that ranks me, but I'm sure I'll have a good time no matter what.

That is a pretty unfounded statement on your part since you have no idea who I am and I have no idea who you are.....I can't recall ever seeing you play in any tournaments I have played in...

When exactly was the last time you played in a tuesday night tounament at Kolby's???

All I was trying to say was that they don't turn away players on Tuesday night...However if someone walks in off the street and really wants to play...They will probably have to play as a 10...I have seen them put unknowns in as 9s before also.

From your statements above...My "guess" is that you will be about a 7 rated player

BTW...I will be there on Tuesday...

Opposite, B is 8 & Below.

There are many many other places to go that 20+ miles to Kolby's. There are tons of rooms to play all over the valley. Not too many in Scottsdale, but there are some fun places close.

Somethings up with my room map page but go here: http://www.azpoolscene.com/RoomMap.aspx
and you'll have to scroll down and zoom in, but you can get a list of rooms with contact info, plus you can see them all plotted on the map.
