Under wrap wood preserving

Hi all,

A guy in my pool hall had an issue with his linen wrap and unravalled it. Played the rest of the match with just the handle, and the cue looks good that way too. If he was to keep the cue this way, short of putting a true finish on it, what to put on the wood to keep it clean/preserved?

you at least need to seal it with a wood sealer and apply some wax, basically treat it like you treat a shaft.

it would be the quickest least intensive and probably safest way to keep the cue sealed without any cue repair tooling/equipment or possible damage or loss of concentricity if going the DIY route.

hope that helps,
