Is it September yet? So when I snap off an Open Event can I still play in the No Masters using my "off-hand"???? Just wondering....

I am doing good to win a game in an Open event... On second thought...I am doing good to win a game in the No Masters event! By the way, I think the way I got beat by Tom playing 10-ball giving me the last four that I need super big weight from whomever I play while there. Maybe I can get the last four and all the breaks....

Patrick, as I recall you missed all of last season with the move down south. All Diamond barboxes now and Diamond 9 footers coming early September. Hope you get a chance to check them out!!

Then I realized I have yet to WIN any big tournaments... I hardly played at all this past Winter and have started to hit balls a bit. Of course, there are probably some who would argue that I have always played like I barely play at all....

Semi-retired... it's good to take some time off. I'm going on 4 years now. I think it will improve my game eventually.
I will be up there to check out those 9 footers FO SHO! lol! Are they gonna have drop pockets on te big tables, or are they gonna have the goofy ball return? Ill be seeing ya soon bud. :thumbup:

8 ball open finals is on super bowl weekend. Not sure it matters, I'm assuming the tourny won't go too late on sunday.
Who watches the Super Bowl anyway...
I would imagine that they would end early afternoon...but I am only guessing...never have made it to coming back on the money rounds!!!

Good point. Luckily that is an "open" tourney and will either finish on Saturday or very early Sunday afternoon. Everyone will be able to watch the Super Bowl.
Wisconsin State Smoking Ban
Due to the statewide smoking ban in public places the Carom Room will be smoke free starting July 5th. For those who still find the need to smoke a new smoking deck is being added. It will be enclosed, roofed, ceiling fans and heaters. It will be located off the south end of the building (where you are not supposed to park, lol).

One final comment....
Anyone currently not eligible for "no master" events who would like to be considered please forward your reasons to me ASAP! I will present them to the tournament committee and get you a response within a week. Please provide some justification as well.

On a new note... the BCAPL has created a new "advanced" division between the open and masters. Some players have been moved from masters "down" to the advanced division. For Beloit purposes, anyone on the advanced list must check for eligibility in advance if you would like to play in the "no masters" tourneys.
To go along with the new division, the BCA has made a few significant rule changes to both 8-ball and 10-ball and I'm curious if ya'll will be using the new rules or not. They are:
8-ball:
1) A foul on the break is now ball in hand for the opponent, not ball in hand in the kitchen.
10-ball:
1) 10-ball is now call shot.
2) If the 10-ball is legally made on the break it is spotted and the breakers turn continues.

Yes, we would like to follow the lead of the BCAPL as much as possible. However, we will make a few changes. We will go over the rules more closely and announce any variance before the start of any tournament. I'll post any major discrepancies as they arise.
