Finally taking the time to post a full review of my newest DZCue from Bob Dzuricky. This may get long winded; sorry in advanced.
I contacted Bob around Christmas time last year about another cue build. I sent him an itemized list of everything I wanted. And much like before, Bob said, "No problem." Well.....almost; I was having some problems in my veneer selection. Bob kept his patience with me, and after several emails I was set. Original build was: stitched maple trim at the joint, 1/2in SS joint, Curly Maple forearm, 4 Ebony points with veneers (black, green, light blue and white with black paper divisions), White/Green Blue Mountain linen wrap, Ebony butt sleeve, matching stacked veneer trim ring above a milk white Delrin butt cap and an old style bumper. Two shafts: one with Juma/black pad/Triangle, the other real Micarta/red pad/Triangle. Matching joint protectors to top it off, and the whole package to be in at or right around 19oz with a forward balance.
Again true to form, Bob had excellent communication throughout the build. Regular email updates, and pictures detailing major progress. Nothing short of class act. Fast forward a few months and Bob sends me an email stating it was the last chance for any inlays. I was kind of going for a simple build for two reasons: 1) I wanted to go for a straight traditional build, save the black paper divisions in the veneers, and 2) I was trying to keep the cost down since I wanted two shafts. But I did want to see what Bob had in mind. Well, he really didn't have anything in mind; it was just kind of an FYI email. But you know that had my tires kicking. I'm a sucker for gun sights and barbells. So Bob and I kicked a few emails back and forth until we had a set design. Though I was a little concerned about the price. Turns out there was no need for concern. Being a return customer many times over, Bob cut me a HELL of a deal on some veneered gun sight inlays.
I think the cue came out Amazingly Perfect. Bob is a hell of a businessman and craftsman. And his customer support is nothing short of perfection.
On to the cue:
Check out these JPs. And best of all, the Ivory caps and veneer trim were totally a freebee! Bob just thought I might like it. Hell yeah I like them!
Forearm: 1/2in SS joint, stitch maple trim, curly maple with ebony points, veneers and Ivory gun sight inlays, white/green Blue Mountain linen wrap.
These points would cut ya!
