Needing a Walbash Pic/Info please

Hope this is the correct forum. I am looking for a better picture of a Brunswick Wabash made between 1932-1934. I bought one a few years ago (9ft) and would like to restore it. It has been painted gloss black so there is my problem. On the Brunswick website I cannot make out the picture very good and they have no more information about this model. Mr. Marvin @ Brunswick has been very helpful, but he doesn't have any more information either.

Thanks a bunch!

I can't help you with a picture, but I am pretty sure it is "Wabash" as in Wabash, Indiana. That might help your web searching if you have been spelling it with an extra L.

Well, it's definitely Wabash, not Walbash. Interesting table, has a very unusual finish. I have delivered and set one up before. Outside of the pictures on the Brunswick site, you may want to check out either the Blatt Billiard site,or Derrick Tiers website at billiardrstoration.com.Just a suggestion

Thanks for the info. What did the finish look like in person? Was it a forest green with the silver foil? It looks like almost a "rag" painting technique from the Brunswick site.

Thanks for the help!

Dave

Thanks Timm. I went to their site and I could have sworn I saw a "L" in there. In fact when I saw your post I double checked. Must be the heat... as it was 120 with the heat index Friday and my brain must have melted a little.

It was forest green in color. As for the "foil", I think that that refers to part of the finish process, there is no silver foil on the table.Very unusual table, hard to find pictures of apparently. Good luck with the search...

Thank you for the help! I have a few color copies coming as we speak. I cannot wait to see what this table is suppose to look like. I cannot believe it was treated so poorly.

Got my pictures and a little information from Joe @ Newell & Company. I am going to do my best with the color picture I received to put this table back to it's original glory. Even with the color picture it is very hard to understand the process/colors used back in 1932-34.

Thanks for the help.

Pics of a Wabash..

Hi Dave,

Here are some I came across and saved.. Not sure how much luck you will have in trying to replicate it as the foil it was done with is probably not made anymore so you would have to substitute something close. You might reach out to a couple of the larger restoration companies online that restore and sell the high end tables and see if they can shed some light. Apparently from what I have read, the Wabash is just a slight change to the Harrison table> http://antiquetables.brunswickbilliards.com/our_rich_history/antique_tables/harrison.html
in other words they all start as Harrison but then it undergoes the foil process which did not work out to well for them because it was a very delicate application and if not kept in environmentally controlled area, it would go bad after awhile..

Brunswick Wabash sighting

Nice pictures of the table, is it for sale? I am not looking to buy, I just happened to see one on the market recently and you don't run across this model very often.

I can see why you are not looking to buy. If that is your table in your avatar you already have a gorgeous table!!! Tough to find a more beautiful table than an Anniversary.

That helping hand...

That's a pretty wicked looking rake in post #10. Never seen one anything like it.

I AM LOOKING FOR GOOD PHOTOS OF THIS MODEL
If you have some or know where to get some, please let me know.
