By the way, a question. How correctly to count points on a cue? Sometimes at the description is a phrase, for example "twelve points cue", but there are standard 4 points on forearm and 8 on sleeve. How to be correct in the description?

How in your opinion to make the correct short description of this blank? Sorry for my English. Thanks.

I can't speak for anyone but myself regarding point counting... but to me counting "points" on a butt sleeve is just wrong. Points are in the forearm and point toward the tip, where they start can be a variable (a point could start at the butt cap and extend to the joint ring, it would still be a point). A four point cue that has the pointy ends of each point somehow divided is still a four point cue.

There should be some clarification of the method of point counting that is commonly accepted, but apparently anything goes. I guess a cue made of adjoining triangle shapes from butt to joint might be a 999 point cue by the counting methods some use.

I'm no expert but...

To me this is a 24 point cue. 12 in the forearm and 12 in the butt sleeve.
That way full credit is given to the extra work involved with the recuts. But if you just want a short way to describe the blank, I would go with "awesome"

point count

I think your original description is excellent. "Full splice East Indian Rosewood, white and black Hornbeam, Lacewood. Four points three times recut with 12 points sleeve". I would say that about sums it up. Robin Snyder

Wow..that's beautiful. I don't speak very much Russian but here it goes Minya ravitsa eta... Ochen Horosho!!!!! You speak English better than I do Russian by quite a bit. You are expressing yourself very well in English.

I also agree with the description of it being a full splice 4 pointer 3 times re-cut with 12 points in the butt sleeve. I think this represents the work you put in better then just counting points.

Please post more pictures of your other work and this cue when it's finished. Are you going to put this up for sale?

I also think it would be correct to indicate in the description of the main points on the forearm and the number of points on the sleeve separately.
But 24 points sounds proudly too.

Counting Points and Inlays

Dimitry - do not worry about how to accurately count inlays and points. It just does not matter and is a skill that is over rated.

Just keep making these beautiful cues and let your work speak for itself.

Thank you, Robert. Your opinion is very important to me.

Thanks all for your support.:wave3:
