Florida cue makers circa 1985...?

The Samauri Sam thing was a joke. It is an Adam cue made in Japan, hence the Samari Sam monicker, and your story of someone with an S being the maker. There is a guy here named Jayman that was collecting these, I don't know if he still does. If there was ever an offer of 2500 for this cue, hunt that guy down and follow him to the ATM, these cues are in the few hundreds, not thousands.

Haha! Thanks for the info. I just heard the guy who bought it new paid $2500. Guess either he was lying or got screwed back in the day... Adam from Japan for free is fine with me. But it is early 80's late 70's I right? I guess if the price was wrong the "S" could be wrong as well as the Florida story. I did not know what to expect but this is not what I was expecting! Hope it plays well.

Late 70's early 80's is about right. If someone paid 2500 for this, a screwing would be an understatement.

* UPDATE * Well I haven't taken possession of the cue yet but I am picking it up at my parents house tomorrow. From the description I got I think it may be a Meucci (doesn't say Meucci I don't think). It says Jim Rempe (not Jimmy) on the butt and has the logo of him down on a shot. It is birdseye with two shafts. White linen wrap with blue specs. Maybe oak inlays. Maybe crome joint. Gray case. Wish I knew more but will have to wait until tomorrow to be sure. Will post pics then. Any info before then would be appreciated. I can't seem to find anything close on the web. Excited!:grin-square::grin-square::grin-square:
Those rempe cues with him shooting were not Meucci, but are Asian imports.

Well the old player who gave it to me really liked it. He had a really good stroke before he had a stroke. He isn't the internet type, a lot of cash, and just a nice guy. Don't think I will tell him the monetary value but will be honest with him about the playability. Guess no ivory in this one. :frown: But cool to add to the collection (if I can call it that!).

So mine is a reverse of the S-8. Don't find exact picture anywhere. Had some tips installed and to my surprise both ferrules are IVORY! Guy has been in cue biz for 30 years and says it doesn't look like an Adam. I told him it was the Jap variety but he has never seen... Here is a pic of the ferrules.
